In reply to: [PixTypes] XSS vulnerability in version <= 1.4.15Is this getting fixed? It looks like it has been around a month now without an update resolving this issue, and security scanning systems are now flagging and warning to remove the plugin.
Please fix this ASAP.
Wow! Thank you for your amazingly fast response!
That would be my guess as well. I’m not very technical, but I do know that init is used somewhere haha.
I’m not very confident in doing modification to files though (that’s why I’m so grateful for your plugin! haha). Is there a way that you think you can add this as an option in the next update? I’m sure I’m not the only person who has run into this, so it would be awesome to just have a checkbox on the settings page like “Use init hook instead of template_redirect”.
This way, for us non-technical content creators, it would be a super simple issue to fix ??
Thank you again for your great plugin and obviously great support as well!

In reply to: [Social Count Plus] Facebook counter not working, Please help me to fix.Hi there!
I just noticed that our Facebook counter was showing 0. Do we need to create the Facebook App stuff to make it work? When and why did this change? (It used to work without it.)
I’m sure if it’s needed now then it’s probably for a good reason, I’m just curious so that I know and can explain it to the people I work with.
Thank you for your amazing plugin!!

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] A lot of suggestionsAhh gotcha. Thank you for that link!
So is wpDiscuz not responsive? I checked a few of the sites listed and it looks like when the screen gets small, the comment area extends beyond the viewable space instead of responsively formatting to fit it.

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] A lot of suggestionsA lot of really great ideas in here! I especially want to endorse ideas 7 through 11. (Although I don’t mind total comment counts including replies. It’s always nice to show total engagement numbers to show off interest, especially when conversations get started.)
Kosta92, do you have a link to your website where you’re using wpDiscuz? I’d love to check it out. I’ve been asking to see some visual examples of the notification emails for a while without any luck, I’d like to see everything in action before we add it to our site. It’s very promising and seems to have a lot of what we’re looking for, but I never implement anything without seeing some sort of demo or live example first.
Thanks and again, great ideas!!

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Question About Email NotificationsHi gVectors Team!
Thank you! So does that mean we can customize the sender email, subject, etc.? And that’s a wpDiscuz file where we customize this? (Will it be more simple to edit in the newer paid version?)
Are there any websites where you can point us to that use your plugin? I’d really like to just see it in action before we start using it, especially the default emails.
Thank you!

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Question About Email NotificationsHi there! I don’t mean to bump this thread back up, but I noticed many responses to other threads in the time I’ve been waiting.
Is there any way I could see how the default notification email is delivered and how it looks to the user? This is very important for us to know before we consider implementing the plugin.
Thank you! We’re very much looking forward to your next update including whatever paid versions you are planning!

In reply to: [Comments - wpDiscuz] Question About Email NotificationsHi gVectors Team!
I see. Is there anywhere that I can see an example of how the email looks for the user? Preferably both how it arrives in their inbox as well as the email itself. We want to make sure that it doesn’t say “WordPress” or anything along those lines anywhere. We’d also like to make sure it looks professional before we implement anything.
Are there any plans to add more control over the email system, format, etc.? This would be a good idea to add so as to allow the administrator to tailor the email for a more professional look that matches their brand. We use a membership program that sends out beautiful emails, we’d love to be able to match that style for consistency.
I noticed that you are discussing doing a Premium/Paid version of the plugin. We would definitely be interested in supporting that. Have you thought about listing it on CodeCanyon.net and what price it would be? We prefer premium plugins mostly and try to always get them from CodeCanyon when we can as we’ve had nothing but high quality programs including great support. Your plugin would probably do very well as there aren’t many good comment plugins available, which is why we were referred here ??
Thank you!
I think the daily visit option seems to have mostly solved the problem since it pretty much acts the same way.
Users told me that they weren’t getting login points and I was also able to check it in the point log. I guess the login we use doesn’t mimic what you said. I could email the developer though and see if they can do anything about that. What should I say? (I’m not really familiar with the technical stuff so the more descriptive I can be the better haha.)
myCRED is one of the most incredible programs available! We have been using it with incredible results for months and our users have nothing but praise for it.
Thank you for the explanation and the offer! Your effort to ensuring a quality user experience cannot be understated. You’re one of the best!
I actually decided to restore from a backup to before we had updated. Then I simply updated again and everything is great now ??
Thanks so much as always!
P.S. You should really think about putting your plugin on codecanyon and charging $20-$30 for it. I think you would find a lot of new users who would be willing to pay for it (I know I would! Already bought the Notification Plus!) You could add more simple control panel elements and options without requiring as much user code to change things around and I can see it getting tons of paid downloads.
Just a suggestion! Keep up the great work!
No problem!
I’m not too familiar on how to do either of those actions to fix it haha. Is there something simpler (or maybe can you just explain how to do the FTP one?)

In reply to: [Limit Login Attempts] Fatal error: Cannot redeclare limit_login_setup()Gotcha, thanks!
Since you’ve been so helpful, mind if I ask you another question? I am noticing this on the account in question: “Current setting appears to be invalid. Please make sure it is correct. Further information can be found here”
“Here” links to the main plugin page we’re on right now. Any idea what that means?
Also, very strangely someone tried to log into the site with the exact admin username. The site is less than a week old and has nothing on it yet except a coming soon page so I’m also wondering if you have any idea how someone would know the exact (and quite unique) admin username.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Limit Login Attempts] Fatal error: Cannot redeclare limit_login_setup()Hi Kitchin,
Thanks for answering me! Since it was a fresh install I completely uninstalled WordPress and reinstalled it. I noticed that Limit Login Attempts was already in the settings after the fresh install so my guess is that the host we’re using for that site adds it in automatically.
What’s strange though is that I contacted support about it and they didn’t seem to know anything about it being pre-installed. However, that has to be why the plugin didn’t activate…because it was already active.
Would you know where to find it though? We’re not part of a multi-site network, it’s not in the plugins and I can’t locate it on my FTP. I don’t mind that it’s there because I love the plugin, I’m just curious.
Thanks!
