your client should do the ping to your website because the traceroute seems okay, if doing the ping shows no problem, it is not your fault that the access and navigation on the website doesn’t work well for him.

a nice theme to use to accomplish the things you are saying will be divi from elegant themes, but if u want to improve your developing skills make it from scratch and look for login and other things u want in your website and based on the code they have, try and do yours.

I saw some ppl with similar issues as yours, and all of them has the WP version 4.3.1, try to use version 4.3 and if the error is there too, the only thing i think of is that you modified in someway the editor of the theme and it doesn’t works because of that.
Another thing u can try is to uninstall the theme and install it again.

in PHP, require_once() function is used to get the code or information a file has, so this error means that it is not there.

A solution to your problem may be to update the plugin, but u said that u delte the jetpack plugin so the error may be the same but with other plugin because the error u showed us is for the jetpack plugin only.

To help u better we need a screenshot of the new error and if u can send the url of the website will be better.

you said that you left blank the place where the url of the twitter goes, but did you try to look for above that for a button which enable or disable the twitter button or widget? i mean in the same Appearance – Theme options.
