Thanks for checking the main site. I’ve been clearing the WPRocket cache regularly as I try to work this out. What’s odd is that the reCaptcha shows on the live site WP login page but not on the My Account page.

Just triple checked and the plugins are identical and updated. Like you, that was my first thought since it was a plugin conflict between WP Forms and NoCaptcha Recaptcha for WooCommerce that led me to your plugin.

Is it possible this is enabled on your live site but not on the staging site?

The plugin is enabled on both. Is that what you meant? Or did you see some source code?

Also went through all the WP Rocket settings for live and stage just in case and they too are identical. The uninstall/reinstall didn’t work either, as you suspected.

You’ve been very helpful and I appreciate your time and suggestions. It is very strange, but then again, what isn’t in technology when one isn’t overly technical? Sigh.

Any idea on if there is anything more I can try?

    Thanks for trying so hard!

Okay, I did check and the configuration page has no error messages. Plugin is active (v.1.7).

Everything looks good, but it just won’t show up on WooCommerce My Account page on the live site. I wouldn’t care if it was not happening on the stage site! ??

Can you suggest anything else? Do you think it would help to uninstall it and reinstall it on the live site?

Thanks for getting back to me so fast, Robert!

Want to be sure about your different domains suggestion before proceeding. The domains are https://mygoforthegreen.com and https://mygoforthegreen.com/stage. Are they considered different? They do both have the same Google keys.

Sorry to be dense on this … I’m minimally technical!

    Thanks again,
    Linda

Hi, I’m jumping in on your thread because your issue sounds similar to mine and I’m hoping Threadi can offer me some advice, too. Hope this is okay. Please let me know if I should start a whole new thread instead.

Like dfcsl, I suddenly noticed almost 500 users on our site, only 6 of which are legit. I have login protection and sign up plugins installed so they aren’t coming from there. Could they have come from our blog post comments on the blog page on our site?

Unlike dfcsl, I am not getting any advice emails that these users have signed up which is why I hadn’t noticed them until today.

We’re running Windows 7, WordPress 6.0.2 and all plugins are up to date.

I would sure appreciate any suggestion on how to stop these. I’ve now deleted all the fake ones. Site is https://mygoforthegreen.com.

    Thank you,
    Linda

    Hi Nikhil,

    You’re most welcome!

Unfortunately, another issue did come up when I tried this on our live site. The reCAPTCHA does not appear on the WooCommerce My Account page although it does on the WordPress log in page.

Any idea why this could be happening? I’ve tried clearing the cache several times, tried a different browser and restarted the computer. The stage site is a copy of the live one with the same plugins and WP version so I’m truly stumped. Or is this something I should take up with the plugin developers?

Any suggestions are welcome at this point … I’m pulling my hair out!

    UPDATE
Hey, good news! I did more research and found a different plugin “LogIn No Captcha Recaptcha” that said it provided reCaptcha for WP login, WooCommerce sign ups and account page. Sounded too good to be true, but I checked it out and gave it a try on our stage site. It worked!! Easy to set up and the verification reCaptcha appeared on both WP login and our WooCommerce Account page!

After weeks of frustration, this feels terrific!! Hope it helps someone else out.

    Hi Nik (hope that’s right),

Found this while searching for help with the huge number of fake free trial registrations our site’s been experiencing for the past week. We use the free version of WP Forms and V2 reCAPTCHA. I moved slider to “most secure” and am crossing my fingers that will help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll let you know if it works.

Wow, that’s terrific, Henrique!I’m impressed you could find the origin of these images after seeing my screenshot… I sure couldn’t! I’m glad to know Elementor is the culprit and not a hacker! Now I’m going to contact them and Short Pixel to see if I can get my optimization credits back! Or maybe I should ask Elementor to pay for them?! Ha, ha.

I really appreciate your help and the time you spent to work me through this. No wonder I love WordPress … and its community.

Best wishes to you for a Happy Easter, too! ??

Okay, I’ll give that a try. An image of my Library is what I thought you wanted when I first read your message and then I changed my mind, especially once I could see no way to upload the image. I’ll go now and try the link you sent, get an image of my Library page and send you that link.

    Be right back, Henrique!

Wonderful … and thank you, Henrique!
Our theme is GeneratePress, free version currently, Premium last year.

I think you are asking for the information about the images and not the images themselves. Is that correct?

If so, there are images and also 9 items labelled as Attachments with URLs I cannot access. Here is the info for One:
    Title: 16_DogCat_Food_Delivery-Clients_3.svg
    URL: https://mygoforthegreen.com/16_dogcat_food_delivery-clients_3-svg/
Uploaded on March 21, supposedly by me (Linda, linked to my profile php).

There is 1 logo image (which is just an empty square in my Library), uploaded on the same date by me again.
    File Name: 16_DogCat_Food_Delivery-Logo.png.

One weird thing I just discovered: if I copy that png or the svg into a search engine, I get all kinds of listings from all kinds of organizations, none of which are related to pet Food! Huh?

Here are examples of image info. There are 7 visible images, 4 for products, 1 for About, 1 for Testimonials, 1 for Hero image:
    File Name: 16_DogCat_Food_Delivery-Testimonials.jpg
Uploaded March 21 again, by Linda.
Below is one of 4 product images, same date and uploaded by Linda:
    16_DogCat_Food_Delivery-Products_Beef.jpg

Hope this is what you needed. If not, please let me know and I’ll try again. Wasn’t sure if or how I could include a snip image of an info page.

I REALLY appreciate your help … and the time you are giving me!

Thank you very much, Henrique, for getting back to me … and so quickly! You have understood my issue perfectly (although I hadn’t realized the images were in my library as well until I checked just now). I think you’re right about their being uploaded with a theme, but I haven’t consciously uploaded any themes and I am the only user of this PC. The only ideas I have are:
    1. Could these have come in with the WordPress 2022 theme? I did update to the latest version, but am not sure when.
    2. Could Elementor have done this via one of their updates? I use them for our home page.

Do you have any further thoughts? Is there any way I could check whether my 2 ideas could be correct? Sorry, I’m not overly technical!

    Sure appreciate your help!

Update: I just tried the WordPress 2020 theme and the issue is still there: no option to insert link URLs.

Thanks for getting back to me. I can’t change my Pro theme as our whole site is built around it. I’ve disabled a video lazy loader plugin with no result. I may try disabling some others, but not sure any others could be causing the problem.
