In reply to: removing randome google linkyes, I did. it is .net
https://www.brentwoodyouthsoccer.netOk but I’m not going to post all that info on this forum
wow… ok. thanks.
How about you tell me how to fix the issues when activating this plugin?
Am i suppose to be network activating this plugin? because when i do it messes up jetpack, instead of opening the tab for settings it actually redirects me to a 404 page…
Also when it is network activated the main site that i’m loggin into as a super-admin – the tab for AAM is NOT displayed??
but when i go to the subsite which i’am too an admin – it DOES appear there.once i network DEACTIVATE all is back to normal. jetpack does not redirect and no AAM appears as it shouldn’t, being that it is not activated in the subsite.
So, i activate the plugin in the subsite and in the main site… this happens – mainsite loses the jetpack tab altogether NO AAM tab appears.
Subsite jetpack now works without the redirect and the AAM tab shows. What am i doing wrong. NO errors show up.
What i need is to have a tool (plugin) that will help me assign or limit accessibility to specific areas of the dashboard menu based on their level of user. If AAM can do that or do more than that great.
But so far I can’t even get it to not mess something up on my dash.I will check out your tuts while i wait for your reply.

In reply to: plugins and themes not showing up on the subsiteehh!
Ok,
so I don’t understand it’s purpose. Under what circumstances would i use that plugin?Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: plugins and themes not showing up on the subsiteI found out that the reason the plugins don’t show up in the subsite is because they ARE network activated. Therefore they don’t appear in sub-sites.
What I don’t understand is the ‘role’ assignments. I have the multiuser management plugin and it says that for ‘new uers’ select the default role. i selected subscriber. but when i did that it changed the roles of the existing user from ‘administrator’ to ‘subscriber’

My challenge now is learning my way around the network admin and managing users.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: wpmu changeing to subdomain from subfolder/pathI want them to be sitename.brentwoodyouthsoccer.net
BUT I do want this network to work so… is there really a limitation on this due to how i have the wpcore files already running.

In reply to: wpmu changeing to subdomain from subfolder/pathOk this is my update…
site is at brentwoodyouthsoccer.net
i had followed the codex instructions as best as i could but I clearly did something wrong. the site is working properly again. so i need to give it another try.my host is bluehost shared server
the site is currently set up as follows
HOME is at brentwoodyouthsoccer.net = siteurl
wordpress core files are at brentwoodyouthsoccer.net/different directorythe site has been up since September of 2013, custom permalinks have already been set up and established.
some of the codex tells you to set up wildcard subdomains… I honestly don’t know if I even need to do that.
***** I now know that is only needed if I set up network as sub-domain.
***** I also now know that because the wp core files are in a directory (ie, mysite.com/wpcorefiles) my network must be sub-directory.
*** although still not sure if this is truly my ONLY option due to the custom permlink structure already set up???***** my other question is when setting up the blog.dir, is that necessary for both sub-domain & sub-directory??
*** lastly I’m unclear on the Apache mod_rewrite module… what the heck is that and how do i enable it?
Being that I screwed it up so bad the first time I am hesitant to try it again.
Please provide any insight you may haveJust tried it … all works. I had no clue what to do.
thank you so much.ok I will try that. Will get back to you.
