In reply to: Archive Pages Not FoundYes. Mod_rewrite is installed, as evidenced by the fact that categories, pages, etc do work, just that the permalinks and archives do not.

In reply to: Archive Pages Not FoundIt’s possibly worth noting that, no matter whether permalinks are on or off, manually typing in
works, so, why Apache can’t make the connection between that and
is entirely beyond me.

In reply to: Archive Pages Not FoundJust for the record, the above procedure did NOT work for me.
Permalinks and archives do not work.
Categories, feeds, and search all work, however.
It’s got me beaten. But I’m not turning cruft back on, my site’s visitors if any can just suffer until this is fixed ??

In reply to: Permalink doesn’t workI’m having much the same issue. Upon upgrading my site from 1.2.2 to 1.5, my permalinks and monthly archives are not working – 404 error.
Firstly, the monthly archives are presented in the format
/archives/2005/01/post_name/
, whereas I specified/archives/200501/post_id
.The apache error_log reads:
[Sat Feb 19 00:49:48 2005] [error] [client 203.206.26.142] File does not exist: /home/httpd/vhosts/insom.com/httpdocs/archives/2005/01/, referer: https://insom.com/
and similar.
Permalinks are presented in the correct format, but still 404.
Categories work, as does Search, RSS, and other things relying upon mod_rewrite.

In reply to: OT Help: Can an Ipods XML be viewed on website? It appears he’s converted the XML to HTML and published it that way, this is usually done with some XSL mechanism, but this time by the author, not the reader.
As an example, I have my CD collection online in XML format. If you view the source you’ll notice it’s in XML, but it has one line that tells the browser what template is to be used. ie., tells the browser how the XML should be presented. It’s pretty easy to do.

In reply to: OT Help: Can an Ipods XML be viewed on website?Simplest way to do it would be to create an XSL template for the file. I’m not familiar with the ipod but it sounds like you want to display an XML document as a web page. If you google for XSL there are a few guides on how to get this set up.
Then it’s just a matter of putting a line in your XML document that points to the template file and the url will just be the path to the XML file.
