In reply to: [Mingle Forum] [Plugin: Mingle Forum] New users are made forum administratorsHow was this issue resolved? I am having the exact same problem, where new users registering for my blog get administrative abilities in the forum, even though they are mere subscribers in the blog itself.

In reply to: Need Comment Moderation Email settingsI looked at a wordpress export xml file from before the upgrade. It said WordPress version 3.0.1. So if this was supposed to happen in the previous version of wordpress we had as well, then maybe something we had installed was preventing it. I’m not sure what could have been changed, except that we had a couple user-related plugins that we dumped, which were Alkivia Open Community and Register Plus Redux.
If you know of a plugin that can restore our ability to not have our contributors bugged by spam emails, I’m all ears! Thanks.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Need Comment Moderation Email settingsAs I said, we only recently updated our version of WordPress. We had many plugins set up the way we wanted, as well as WordPress itself, and we didn’t want to mess that up. We recently redesigned the look and inner workings of our site and updated WordPress in that process. So I guess the thing we did to prevent it was not to update WordPress?

In reply to: Upgrade caused loss of CategoriesLorax, thank you for your trial-and-error. I just upgraded from like, version 1.5 to the latest version, and at first I had everything there, and then nothing at all. Everything was in the database, posts showed up before while I was tweaking the way the theme displays, but then everything disappeared, and there was no access to the posts, categories, or anything.
After reading your post, I tried simply erasing the new wp-config.php file in the root directory, and uploading my old wp-config file. Viola! Everything works. That’s great, because I have to host a blog carnival in 2 days!
Those 2 lines make quite a bit of difference.
