Thanks for the replies. I found the solve on the following link along with help from my host to be the best way to fix this issue:

I can now access my dashboard again! Phew!

OK so I have downloaded Filezilla but have no idea how to set this up for my site. Do I have to contact my host?

How do I access the file system? Sorry.

I can’t see my plug in menu because I can’t access my dashboard. How do I remove the plugin if I can’t see the menu?
