It was a new WC feature, not plugin related and can be permanently disabled (thank goodness)

Thank you Jochen (@media) for pursuing this issue and getting to the actual cause which was this navigation being activated by default on some installations… being a new feature it would have been useful for the changelog to highlight this clearly… as for those using Gutenberg editor it just appears and obscures the left hand-pane…making product editing with gutenberg virtually impossible.

Maybe WC could update this feature so that for block editing it auto-hides just like the dashboard does (thanks WordPress)?

This issue wasted sometime to solve as it just appeared after an update… and we were being advised to do a load of investigation (disabling plugins etc) when it was a new feature turned on by default…

I aooreciate that WC is being improved… so please keep that up. I am also pleased that I can disable this feature, rather than having to click on the WP logo to keep hiding it… it is certainly a ‘new navigation experience’ ??

I am using Storefront, and did not experience this issue until updating Woocommerce to 6.4 from then a woocommerce menu sidebar appears in Products list page and individual products page. My initial enquiry on this forum was how to hide it when block editing a single product as it appears over the top of the editing page… i received an answer from Jochen, to that question which is to click on the wordpress logo contained at the top left of the black WC sidebar menu and it will hide… so it appears that this is not plugin related and designed by WC as part of the latest release… my pic and Jochen’s pic shows this sidebar… what I am now asking is whether by default it can be hidden by default when editing a single product rather than having to click on the wordpress logo to hide it… just as wordpress does…

Having worked with this new sidebar for a few days now: (since 6.4) I would ask you to consider why this bar as a default appears when editing a single product… particularly with block editor… it just gets in the way, needs clicking to hide again if changing page magnification etc… this is creating significant unnecessary churn for all products that I need to edit and maintain… even wordpress autohides their side menu bar when editing a single product… it would be great if you could do the same… as the default… you can always provide an option in settings to display if required… please can you attend to this and save the churn?
