Those codes selection you have provided is not a part of GoGallery plugin. It looks like a partial code of another plugin.

It may be caused by incorrect shortcode usage, for example if you using Gutenberg or another page builder like Elementor and pasting shortcode to the wrong place or field or in a wrong way. In that case just refer your page builder manual how to add shortodes correctly.

Most likely it caused by another plugin you’re using. If that’s the case try to check what plugin may cause the conflict.

It is possible to categorize images hierarchically but at the moment GoGalery does not display multi-level hierarchical galleries. You still can build it manually, for that you’d have to create different galleries for every category level. In the future we may add this feature.

Sure, this is really easy, you can disable QtLightBox entirely, is not an essential part of this plugin. To disable a lightbox use shortcode attribute lightbox = ‘no’

Read your favorite lightbox manual to connect it. We have tested GoGallery with PrettyPhoto and number of other lightboxes with success.

Sure, you can add shortcode attribute limit = 1-200 – number of images to display (in total).

For the example you’ve provided it should look something like this:

[go_gallery cat=’category1, category2′ size=’medium’ gap=20 border_size=10 menu_show=1 limit=200]

We don’t recommend to go beyond 200 images though.

Hello, yes of course there’s an option that you can use directly in the shortcode to disable caption on thumbnails, it is ‘ hover_data ‘. You can use it as follows:

[go_gallery cat='X,Y,Z' hover_data=0]

No need to apply any other css rules.

Please follow instructions on how to add categories to the media files. You have to add categories to the media files first.

After categories is added filtering will appear no further action needed.

it may be because of shortcode misconfiguration or conflict with theme or other plugin(s) or both. Please try to sanitize your shortcode attributes, check colons and semicolons also try to activate/deactivate some (old) plugins (if any) that may cause this issue.

1. Yes but categories does not contain anything. Images should be categorized and then can be included in multiple galleries. Think of it same way as post categories.
2. Yes but at the moment is just images, AFAIK there’s development going on in PRO version to inlude video lightbox by image click.
3. Yes but again category != (Album) !!! you can create as many albums and include to them as many categories as you want/need, no need to deal with images/albums Go Gallery will create gallery for you automatically. Sorting can be set to random.
4. Yes but again it’s only images right now.
5. Yes you can use HTML in description.
6. No.
