  • Have you made any changes within an member role plugin?

    Hello bmaas93,

as a first step please make sure “Selective Admin Plugin Loading” is disabled in the general settings tab.

If this should correct your problems, it is useful to check your other settings before you switch it on again.

If this setting is already disabled, have you already tried to disable plugin for plugin one after the other? Maybe there is a problem with another extension..

Well, we are really reassured that we are dealing with a professional from the late nineties. All the more we are looking forward to your professional solutions for your criticism.

It’s not of my responsibility, is it?

But you have already understood that WordPress is an open source community, right?

Of course you should. Just the solutions of a real expert like you are interesting.

I don’t have the obligation on www.remarpro.com to give detailed instructions to devs how to improve their products, do I? […] I would love to hear opinions about that.

Of course you have this obligation. Open source community does not just mean taking, but it means working together on better solutions. It should be mentioned here that Jeff is absolutely open for new proposals, if they can be implemented.

It is extremely important to make a distinction between premium providers (where such criticism might be appropriate) and authors of free plugins. Especially you as a registered professional should know this.

You should keep in mind that free software writers spend a lot of their leisure time doing something that helps others. Hour by hour by hour to help you with your business.

Then come other people who do not want to take the time to deal with the matter and believe to be able to make a judgment. A 3 star rating is not neutral. It is a statement.

If you really know how WordPress works in the core, then you would know that PO is well implemented.

PO has more than 10,000 active installations, more than 198,000 downloads and a rating of 4.8 at 154 reviews.

How many plugins of this type can you prove, so your criticism would be justified, because you can make it better yourself?

You should think about this fact.

Instead of talking badly, constructive criticism is much more meaningful to everyone involved.

As a developer it is always difficult to cover all needs.

Just a performance plugin should dispense with superfluous functions and a super great UI simply means very much superfluous code.

Please remember that PO should make your website faster. It is not supposed to slow it down.

In terms of what PO is supposed to do and how WordPress works as a platform, PO is implemented very well and well thought-out.

But if you have good and meaningful suggestions for improvement, then let’s hear. All other satisfied and grateful users of PO will thank you.

    Hi AlexOM,

I use ET mainly for customers because you can easily do a lot with it, without a big coding knowledge. On the other hand, I am a developer myself. If the solution does not come to me, then I create the solution, if I have enough time.

The employees of ET focus their attention on easy handling. I have already asked with LazyLoad, but so far without reaction.

I think quite simply that the priority is not so high because simply not enough people ask for it.

Please note that their page builder will include the css code from the adaptation of their builder, inline in the header. So it is essential that you have a solution like Autoptimize next to PO. Together with a good caching plugin, I can personally recommend Comet Cache, you get very good values ??at Pingdom etc.

Comet Cache and Autoptimize allow you both the very simple use of a CDN provider. You should definitely consider a CDN provider if you want to deliver many pictures. So you relieve your server very much. Have a look at Key CDN.

But now it is possibly better to conclude here, because this is mainly about PO ??

    I wish you success!

    Hi AlexOM,

What you can add to your current theme with extensions, have other themes already by default. So it comes down to the same thing. Your current theme offers you the possibility to do without the things you do not need.

Elegant themes are very good for SEO. Lazy-Loading does not work so well. This is also my only point where I am not satisfied with ET.

Since I use ET myself much, I have decided to program my own LayzyLoad plugin only for ET, but this will not happen before January or February. When I’ve finished it, I will make it available to others as well, but I still have some other projects that require my attention.

ET works very well with PO and can be optimally optimized with Autoptimize and Comet Cache.

    Hi AlexOM,

Your theme works well with PO. Only its extensions do not seem to be controlled by PO. That’s all. If you install other “normal” plugins, everything should work as you wish.

Also with other themes you will not be able to switch off internal functions with PO.

Any theme and plugin that is programmed according to the WordPress Codex should be compatible with PO.

If you are looking for a good front-end page builder, check out Elegant Themes.

    Hi AlexOM,

I have installed the Theme / Framework for tests. It looks like PO can not work with it. The plugins are loaded in the plugin index, but it seems that PL5 then handles the modules internally independently. Post-based settings and filters do not work and the global settings do not seem to work, too.

Just to be sure, here all the steps again:

    Pretty links are enabled

    General Settings:

      01 – Fuzzy URL matching – on
      02 – Ignore URL Protocol – on
      03 – Ignore URL Arguments – on
04 – Custom Post Type Support – check your post-types
      05 – Auto Trailing Slash – on
      06 – Selective Plugin Loading – on
07 – Selective Mobile Plugin Loading – on (if you wann use this separation)

    Manage MU plugin file:

      01 – Click on copy

    (Check your mu-plugins-folder)

    On Global Plugins

01 – Disable the desired plugins

On post/page settings or in a post/page filter

01 – remove the desired plugins from the Disabled List

    Hey thedeancorp,

    please try the following:

Go to Plugin Organizer >> Settings

In the “General Settings” tab you have to activate “Selective Plugin Loading”. If you need a distinction from desktop applications to mobile applications, you can also enable “Selective Mobile Plugin Loading”.

Then go to the tab “Manage MU plugin file” and click on “Copy”. Now your rules should take hold.

Hey Jeff, you’re the one who does the great job. I only help a bit if I can. Now with the new function in the forum to register for new posts, it is so much easier to support you a little with your great achievement.

    Yes, that’s pretty permalinks: https://www.mysite.com/pagename/

Please note that you can only disable plugins that you install via the plugin directory. If the plugin is simply a function of your themes, it probably will not be addressed via plugin organizer.

Hello jkirker, it was actually already repeatedly asked ..:)

It is not possible, because your URL determines which plugins are loaded and which are not. At this point, WordPress is not loaded yet, and so can not be determined whether an administrator is accessing, an author or who else..

If you enable “Selective Admin Plugin Loading” in the general settings, the global settings also affect your backend.

I do not think so. At the time the plugins are loaded (or are not being loaded), WordPress does not have any information about the user yet.
