In reply to: [Brunelleschi] recommendations for replacements?Alexsouthwriter– does it ‘play well’ with WordPress, etc. I had so many problems with it. It’s gorgeous, but totally crashed when I updated WordPress. That could have been for a multiple of reasons and we solved the problems, one way an another.. but it makes me hesitate to go back. Especially if there are security issues.
It looks like what I’ll be doing is creating a child theme of 2012, adding a header *above* the menu bar and a footer– which are the things it’s really missing. The thing I really liked about Brunelleschi was the not-a-black-bar menu — the other thing was the lines under the header font… those were really nice. But it feels like time to move on, sadly.
where is the thread where this was resolved?

Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorthat was the first thing I tried. It asks me to remove ‘li’, says it’s overqualified and to omit it.
but I ignored that and HURRAY! it seems to work. Which is strange since I tried it earlier. But just glad to get some resolution!
thank you SO much!!!

In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorI tried the Custom CSS manager, it also doesn’t work either
added it back to Jetpack
I’m using this:
#access current-menu-item > a {
color: #333;
}Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorWhat do you mean by Jetpack not working? I took the code off since it wasn’t doing anything. I’ll load it back in and see if you can see it then, assuming you’re looking at the source code??

In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorThere’s a CSS editor in one of the Them Options tabs
and
There’s a CSS editor that shows up through Jetpack
Both in the Admin section of the site.
I tried both.

In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorYea it has ??
the site is at https://ingamariecarmel.com
I have items in the main nav. bar that come from 2 different sources… some are regular pages and some are from categories. The regular ones behave fine. The 5 from categories look fine until you click them, then they go white (which is the default in the theme). In other words they don’t respond to any changes in the navigation link colors.. either in the theme options or in css. I’ve tried in both the Jetpack version of a css editor and in the theme options version.
The css I used came from Alexander’s tutorial
#access li.current-menu-item > a {
color:#333;
}but the editor asked me to leave out the li, so I tried:
#access .current-menu-item > a {
color: #333;
}Neither worked in either editor.
So I’m at a loss of what to do.
thanks for any help!

In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorThank Alexander…
unfortunately my problem persists… the menu items made from categories go white and disappear into my white menu bar.I tried it with a darker bar, but just don’t like it…..

In reply to: [Pinboard] dropdown menu colorit’s up at ingamariecarmel.com.
The current link issue persists..if I can’t fix it, I guess I’ll just have to make a darker menu bar ??
