Hi @ppeter12,
Are you getting any error messages while applying the watermark?
What watermark type do you use (image or text)?Hi @ns1045,
We look forward to having this one fixed in the future NGG updates, but you can feel free to reach out to our support at https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/, and we’ll provide you with a file patch for now that hopefully should fix the problem.
Please mention this thread’s URL and that Mihai has suggested you to ask for a patched package.module.mvc.php file.
Thanks
Hi @doublesixx,
We are sorry but the way in which NextGen Gallery currently operates with the albums doesn’t allow to import them from the folder structures. The albums are stored into the database using ngg_album table and manually modifying or adding new entries is complex because it also generates a post with the album’s encoded settings for each of the album.
The above being the case, we understand that there’s place to improve this aspect a lot in terms of performance and UI/UX to ensure that “Manage Albums” remains easy to use on sites with lots of albums and galleries so I’d be happy to register it as a vote on your behalf to the already existing feature request.
Hi @joahie,
Please let us know if our support agent’s suggestion referring the block settings overriding the global settings has helped.
Hi,
We are sorry to hear of the problem. There are 2 things you may want to try first:
- Edit the page, edit “NextGen Gallery” block from the page and press “Insert Gallery” button without doing any changes, then publish the page’s changes (this will update the shortcode construction in case of using a legacy construction).
- Select the album from “NextGen Gallery>>Manage Albums” and press “Update” without having to do any other changes. This should update the album slug, and in some of the cases that can fix the navigation problem.
If the above doesn’t help, please contact our support team directly at https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/ indicating this thread’s URL.
Thanks
Hi @brunocmb,
Looks like you use JetPack’s Lazy Loading for the images and NextGen Gallery doesn’t have an integration with it, so it may require an extra page refresh or scroll to load the thumbnails that appear as missing while navigating the paginated album/gallery.
We suggest you to try to deactivate JetPack’s Lazy Loading feature for the images, then check again to see if that’ll solve the problem.
Hi @cofeman,
While the display type doesn’t come with such a setting, you can add the following custom CSS to your site’s “Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS” to prevent the thumbnails’ click action:
.ngg-gallery-thumbnail a { pointer-events: none !important; }
Hi @joahie,
That’s odd. Please feel free to contact our support team directly at https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/ indicating this thread’s URL and one of our support representatives will be happy to help you.
Hi @joahie,
It should be actually able to change the size of the preview images.
Could you please try to clear the image cache from “NextGen Gallery -> Other Options -> Miscellaneous -> Clear image cache” to see if that’ll change the cover thumbnails after altering that setting?Hi @programmin,
We use an old 5.15.4 free version of FA: https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/blob/5.15.4/CHANGELOG.md#5154—2021-08-04 and we didn’t change it in a while, so perhaps the other product you use has upgraded to a newer version that uses newer FA 6.x codes for the icons.
There’s a NGG setting within “NextGen Gallery -> Other Options -> Miscellaneous -> Do not enqueue FontAwesome” that you can set to “Yes” to prevent NGG from loading FA 5.15.4 and use the other one that’s loaded by the theme or a different plugin instead.
Hi @joahie,
You should be able to change the album thumbnails size from your site’s “Dashboard -> NextGen Gallery -> Gallery Settings -> Basic Compact Album” then set “Override thumbnail settings: Yes” and set a bigger size for the thumbnails.
HI @egiziacoppola,
That’s weird. We hope that you wouldn’t mind contacting our support team directly at https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/ mentioning this thread’s URL.
Thanks.
Hi @sebh06,
This isn’t something we are actively working on, but I’ll check with the dev team to see if it can be included in one of the upcoming dev sprints.
Hi @egiziacoppola,
Could you please let us know if you’ve noticed it happening while uploading images to a new gallery or to an already existing gallery containing images from a previous uploading?
NextGen Gallery doesn’t detect the duplicates to prevent the user from uploading them new, but it shouldn’t create visible duplicates within Manage Galleries or the actual gallery pages if uploading a batch of files that doesn’t contain duplicates.
Hi @jinlsui,
We are noticing that you’ve created a direct ticket for our support team. We’ll take it from there.
