In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Robotsshnozolla, I believe that the plugin depends on robots meta info that appears at the top of every page to tell the search engines which content to index and follow. The reason, if I understand correctly, is that robots.txt files full of links is great fodder for spammers and other shady types to find content you don’t want them to find.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] RobotsNever mind – I found the answer in your post here:

shnozolla, the reason it doesn’t appear in robots.txt is that it’s apparently not necessary.
Thanks!

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] RobotsHi – I have the same question: when sitemaps are activated in WordPress SEO plugin, a path to the sitemap is not added to robots.txt. Do we need to add it manually? If so, is there any recommended practice for doing so?
Thanks!

In reply to: Export Links for future; WP versionThe problem with that method is that the blogroll categories are not preserved, and everything gets imported into one category. Does anyone know of a way to import the OPML file and preserve the categories?

In reply to: Hebrew supportSmallfox, if you’re still trying to find the solution, I found it! Leon at LiewCF posted the solution, which involves making a small change to the wp-config.php file. I wrote it up in Hebrew on wordpressgarage.com.

In reply to: Hebrew supportI’m having a similar problem. I have a site that needs to be able to display both English and Hebrew, and the Hebrew only appears as question marks. The strange thing is that on my local server on my computer, the Hebrew works. Help!

In reply to: Incorporate WP functionality into existing websiteIf you’re already going to be making the the exact same design for both your site and your news feed, why not just use WordPress for the whole thing? With WordPress Pages and pretty permalinks, you can have a site that looks like a site, and have the features of a feed on it. I did this on a site – you can see it here.

In reply to: Can I do this with WordPress Plugins ?ronchicago – glad you like wordpressgarage.com.
Since I posted here that I used Jerome’s Keywords, I had to uninstall it and I started to use Simple Tagging. Jerome’s broke my blog, and it turns out it has some problems with WP 2.1. Simple Tagging is great. I wrote a post explaining my move and how I created a tag cloud with Simple Tagging. You can see it here.

In reply to: Can I do this with WordPress Plugins ?I use Jerome’s Keywords and created a tag cloud with it on the sidebar. You can see it here: WordPressGarage.com. I used it instead of UTW because it seemed questionable as to how compatible UTW is with 2.1 and I didn’t want to take any chances. But Jerome’s Keywords works great and does the job.
