In reply to: Posts appearing slowlyWow, Firebug sure is amazing. It’s a bit complicated for me.
The bottom reads 5.1s (onload: 4.31s).
Unless you can see something serious I think I’ll let it be.
Much appreciation,
Kerry

In reply to: Posts appearing slowlyHi juggledad,
Thanks for checking.
So, I just copied the Arial font family from Windows8.1 > Control Panel > Fonts > Arial (the whole Arial font family) and then created a sideout/fonts/Arial directory and uploaded Arial to— https://www.comcom121.org/deargabby/wp-content/themes/side-out/fonts/Arial.
What do you do to get the 404 error? I use IE, FF, Opera, and Google Chrome to test my work and I’m not getting 404’s.

In reply to: Posts appearing slowlyHi juggledad,
I deleted the GSpeech reading plugin and its code on all the posts.
I’ll check the css and see if the OpenSans-Regulat.ttf is there.
Thanks muchly,
Kerry

In reply to: Posts appearing slowlyHi juggledad,
I don’t know where “OpenSans-Regulat.ttf” comes from—maybe it’s a default font with the Side Out theme? Maybe I should specify a font?
This is what I’m using on gab1,
“[ezcol_1half id=”” class=”” style=””]
<span style=”color: #000080;”>Dear Ann Landers: I separated from … </span><span style=”color: #000080;”>Six months ago, I became involved with a man at work. He is kind and sweet, and is willing …”
I don’t know what to insert between the id “” or class=”” or the style=”” quotation marks.

In reply to: Posts appearing slowlyHi uggledad,
Thanks for the thorough reply. I’ll try your suggestions.
What do you mean by “The net option in FireBug shows a 1.9S wait while looking for the OpenSans-Regulat.ttf and it got a 404 Not Found”?
and plugin 0- ?
Much appreciation,
Kerry

Thank you,

In reply to: Frank's theme, homepage too wideThanks WPyogi,
Got it about giving her ad space. My bad.
Your suggestion for the WP Easy Columns plugin is great. I got it working.
I’m confused about the html/code to put between the id and class quotation marks. This is what I have [ezcol_1half id=”” class=”” style=”font-size: medium;”].Kerry

In reply to: Frank's theme, homepage too wideThanks WPyogi,
I’ll look for a plugin.
BTW: I just rec’d the following email from “Jane.” Apparently she’s trolling the forum. Is there a privacy setting to preclude this from happening?

In reply to: Frank's theme, homepage too wideThe columns I want are here— https://www.comcom121.org/deargabby/2014/12/29/gab1/ with no side columns.
I don’t want columns.

In reply to: Frank's theme, homepage too wideHi WPyogi,
Re: “Where did you get the theme from?” I got it from my WP 4.1 Dashboard menu > Themes. https://www.comcom121.org/deargabby/wp-admin/themes.php
I’m willing to try another free one. What I was/am looking for is a theme that allows three or more columns for the Post and Page entries and, displays well for iphone-type users.
I see now that I need one that’s rather plain vanilla and easy to set up. I don’t plan on having many images. Got suggestion?
Thanks,
Kerry

In reply to: WP-Cumulus tabs missing after upgrading to WP 2.8Hi justbrian,
I tried your suggestion. I’ll let you know if it works consistently.
Your site’s theme is very nice and the floating tabs work perfectly. wp-cumulus is designed for using with WP’s categories, etc. so mine required the special editing because the URLs point to another domain.
Re: “I wonder if a fresh install, activate, then add the widget will give the same results?” Mine is working fine so I don’t want to mess with it. ??
Thanks,
Kerry

In reply to: WP-Cumulus tabs missing after upgrading to WP 2.8Hi JustBrian,
I’m not sure what’s happening but the problem appears to be my Firefox 3.0.11 cache.
When I view the page using FF the changes are not there, even when I press “Reload” or when I shut down FF and restart it. This seems to suggest that FF is caching the page.
When I upload the correction and then view the page using Avant Browser, Opera, iRider, Google Chrome or Apple Safari the changes are there.

In reply to: WP-Cumulus tabs missing after upgrading to WP 2.8Hi JustBrian,
Yes, it definitely works with 2.8. See https://www.managercoaching.com/wp
You need to make three script changes to wp=cumulus.php. The changes are posted above.
I’m not sure if I have WP being cached, where do I check that?
My problem I have now stems from changes I make to tagcloud.xml not consistently taking effect once I upload the .xml file to wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-cumulus/ (tagcloud.smf is also supposed to be in the wp-cumulus directory).
