In reply to: [Participants Database] Image field makes page loading unresponsive…also, I meant to say that exactly the same shortcode, with only the addition of the image upload field, only displays around 10 out of 150 or so items when it does finally load:

(full list, no images)https://www.playoflight.co.uk/datavault/glossary-with-images/
(same list, with images, only displays 10 or so items)Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Participants Database] Image field makes page loading unresponsiveThanks for your reply and suggestions, but I don’t think that the problem is down to filesizes. I’ve just tested it out by resizing the 4 images in the test list to about 4kb each and it still hangs (it just took exactly 5 minutes 20 seconds to load each time I attempted to open this page!):
https://www.playoflight.co.uk/datavault/glossary-with-images/
(all images are in the default upload folder).
The odd thing is that I’ve been using the same lists in development for over a year now, and it’s only in the last few weeks that it has become a problem. The lists had at least twenty 500kb images in them and worked fine. The page would load up straight away and then the images would all progressively load. Now the page just hangs and (if it doesn’t timeout) then appears with all the images together.
I was just wondering if wordpress has changed the way the images load in a recent update? I’ve disabled all other plugins so I can’t think of anything else that may have changed.
Many thanks,

In reply to: [Participants Database] Avoid 'Please enter a URL'I tried the link without the http: but it doesn’t work I’m afraid.
Oh well, many thanks for your reply.

In reply to: [Participants Database] Image field makes page loading unresponsiveThanks for the reply; my apologies, I think you got a cached page, as I had turned cloudflare back on without thinking (it’s off now). ??
Would you be able to take a look at the full list please? I’m still finding that the list with images takes almost a minute to load compared to the version without. It’s definitely a recent phenomenon, and is identical on my main site.

(list without images)https://www.playoflight.co.uk/datavault/glossary-with-images/
(list with images)I’m watching the server while the page loads, and the cpu is under 50% and there are only one or two sites being accessed alongside, so I don’t think that’s the problem. The problem is purely on pages displaying participant images. I’ve had to stop displaying images in the list on my main site as it still hangs.
Many thanks for your help – I know these problems are difficult to track down, and often not the problem of the plugin that gets affected, but the problem does seem very specific at present.

In reply to: [HTML Editor Syntax Highlighter] Plugin still broken in WP 4.3Hi, did anyone manage to get a fix for this?
I’ve had the same disappearing text editor since I’ve updated to 4.4.
I made a new thread for the problem but haven’t received a reply yet; I was wondering if anybody has come across a solution, or an alternate plugin please?
I love this plugin, but have had to deactivate it at the moment.:(

In reply to: [Participants Database] Image upload not workingOh well, thanks for your help anyway. ??
I’m sure you’re right about it being a server issue, as it worked fine on the previous one. Is the temporary browser file written to a system folder?
I’ve been reading that php writes by default to C:\Windows\Temp and that I should ‘give IUSR write/modify permissions to PHP’s temp upload directory‘, but I’m not really sure what I’m doing here and don’t want to cause any security issues! At present my IIS_IUSRS permissions for Windows\temp folder are only ‘list folder / read data’, so perhaps this could be the problem? If I can’t get this working I guess I could manually add the filename to the database as I saw mentioned in another post.
Just thinking out loud: I don’t suppose there’s a (simple-ish!) way I could comment out the image file validation or something in the ‘participants-database.php’ file is there? So that the image name is written to the database field even if the image doesn’t upload? There’s only myself adding and editing profiles, so I can easily ftp the images to the correct folder manually, I just need to get the filename into the image field of the database somehow.
Many thanks for your help. ??

In reply to: [Participants Database] Filter Shortcode – html characters break shortcodeOdd, because I only use the text editor and it still wouldn’t work (I have the visual editor disabled).

In reply to: [Participants Database] Image upload not workingAt present I’m using the default:
wp-content/uploads/participants-database/
but I’ve used a variety so far (including the folders for the current wordpress media uploader). All the folders I’ve tried have full permissions set on them.
I’ve also tried adding a / to the start of the current location, but still no luck I’m afraid.
Thanks for your reply.

In reply to: [wpMandrill] Breaks links and html emails from woocommerceThanks Nick!
This appears to solve the same problems I was having with Woocommerce html email formatting, and Mandrill stripping out clickable links in all other emails when the line-break option was checked.
The current Mandrill option to fix plain text email formatting (and break html emails at the same time) surely needs resolving.
I’ve been searching around for a solution for a long time for this – so thanks again! ??

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Woocommerce Currency Converter not working after updateUpdate – all seems to be working now – I went back to an old version of woocommerce, then updated again and it’s working fine. Not sure why, but I’m not complaining! ??
Hi, this is a great membership plugin, but I’m also having difficulty running it on a multisite.
Like the OP, I’m also looking to allow access to members-only content from one subsite to several other subsites using the same user-account.
This network-subsite plugin you mentioned looks ideal, but I can’t find a way to get it working. Is there any documentation for it anywhere?
I tried Network-activating PMPro and then activating the network-subsite plugin on all except one of my subsites, but I couldn’t get users created in one subsite to gain access to protected content on another subsite. I guess I’m just setting it up wrong. ??
Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
