Just checked and mine are OK, both when made automatically and manually.

The only thing is that the .backup_running file is not deleted once the backup has ended.

At least on my case, 15 hours went by and the backup is supposedly still running ??

Looking at the server files, the backup seems to have been created OK. It’s just that the file /wp-content/backups/.backup_running was never deleted.

Hi, Tom. Just upgraded to 1.5 but the problem persists when ordered to make a manual backup.

Running WordPress 3.2.1 on CentOS with Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2 and MySQL 5.1. I’m using Firefox 8 in Windows 7 64bits.

Just in case, normal backups weight 30mb and there are 250mb free.

Any ideas?

My mail server can send/receive attachments of up to 50mb, yet Gmail (25mb) and others have a much smaller limit. So “too large to email” varies depending on the email address you are mailing backups to.

Can you point me to where that maximum value is set?

I have it working now and it mailed a 6mb backup OK.

With the old plugin we could also set a maximum file size for emailed backups. It was a great feature to avoid sending emails that would bounce at the mail server.

Is this other functionality there and I missed it, too? Or is it planned at least?

Another WP fan has just recommended me this plugin: jQuery Vertical Mega Menu.

It seems to do the trick and comes with a ton of presentation options.

Will install it and check it right now…

Actually, the topic is not closed (that’s why you could answer), and I posted specifically to keep it from closing. There must be some other people out there with the same needs.

The theme you pointed me to seems to be using a Pages list, not a Menu, as the old WordPress did. That’s one of the routes I took solve the problem: styling the Pages widget, but it’s more like a patch than a real solution.

I’ll post here if I find something more on this.

You are right, the Codex clearly says so… Maybe I was just suffering flashbacks from the time when I updated WP using Fantastico in cPanel ??

Manually adding plugin configuration info to the wp-config.php is really keeping me from upgrading, as that info would be lost after each and every WordPress update.

Even if it’s only to help make a case for a plugin that does this, I’ll take this chance to say I’d surely welcome this kind of functionality.

I ended up modifying the database with PhpMyAdmin to get the changes done… the hard way: you have to find and assign the “comment_ID” of the parent comment to the child comment, in the “comment_parent” field.

By the way, drag and drop for this would be sweet ??

Just found and tried (in a basic way) GLM’s Category Magic Plugin, and it seems to work OK… so I’m beginning to use it as a replacement for Sobek’s Posts in Category plugin.

Though it’s still a bit old (last update on Oct. 2008), it’s fresher than Sobek’s (last update on Nov. 2007).

Sobek’s plugin is still listing both posts and pages in certain cases. Though the problem has been raised in the plugin’s homepage, it has not yet been solved or even discussed by the author.
