A better way to have your front page content displayed is to create a child theme.
You can re-create front-page.php such that it would display your page content instead of the default Widgetized home page.

Sorry about that. We do not currently have any translation available for the theme.

Yes it should be get_template_directory() instead of get_template_directory_uri()
in functions.php
We will fix this in coming version.

You can keep the image size to 1600px by 450px.

If you go to WP admin > Customize, there’s an option for each section that has “Menu Title” field. That’s where you can enter your custom menu titles that appear in the header.

The image is set to be always “full width” so even if you zoom-in or zoom-out it will remain the same.
Can you please share some screenshots of the possible error that you are seeing?

You can simply dequeue, google fonts and then create your own function to enqueue the fonts.
