In reply to: Bottom of Post navigationThanks for taking a good look. Can I design the page so that the arrows don’t come up? Or can I restrict the arrows to only show a certain category?

In reply to: Bottom of Post navigationI only have one active plug in, a basic contact form that’s been on the site for a week without causing this problem. could it be something to do with our server?

In reply to: Bottom of Post navigationThat just happened this morning. I added some text, but didn’t make other major changes, so I don’t have a clue. I’m a total beginner.

In reply to: Bottom of Post navigationThanks, but I’m not looking that far down on the post page. Where I see the arrows is right above the Leave a Reply box for comments.

In reply to: excerpt missing "…"Hi – I inserted the “more” command into the main post text and didn’t use an excerpt.
But now I’ve edited the post, deleted the “more” and added an excerpt (an original introduction to the content that’s not literally an excerpt).
Nevertheless, I would like to be able to use the “More” command and have the “…” appear.
On the other post I added an html link to the excerpt to work around the problem.

In reply to: excerpt missing "…"The only place I tried the more feature is on the blog post that appears on the bottom left (the one that stops in the middle of the sentence!).

In reply to: Fatal Error recoveryThat sounds straight forward. As soon as I can access the FTP site, I’ll do that and post my outcome.

In reply to: Fatal Error recoveryI was working with excerpts and had just “discovered” the more function. When I used it to shorten a post excerpt that appears on the front page, the … disappeared. I thought that looked really lame, looked for a fix on the support forum and came up with a few lines of code that I pasted into the functions.php at the very bottom (after checking to find out where the code was supposed to be pasted in and finding that “it didn’t matter”). I can easily delete that code from the bottom of the functions.php if I can access it, but it sounds like I’ll need to reinstall the seed functions.php (when I can get it from our IT).

In reply to: Fatal Error recoveryThanks, but I need you to be more specific (it’s clear I’m not having the best luck with my first site). Where is the theme’s folder? On the FTP site I presume. And do I add “.HOLD” after the code you shared?
I presume I will still need to do something to overwrite or correct the functions.php. Thanks for the help.
