  • The permalink / url displayed in your browser does not reflect the relationships between courses / modules / lessons. This is maintained in the course structure. So, when creating your structure, the order of creation is: Course, then Module, then Lesson. Inside each lesson you select the module to which the lesson belongs and inside each module, you select the course to which it belongs. Choices operate “upwards” meaning that you choose a course from inside a module and choose a module from inside a lesson. You cannot select “downwards”, meaning you cannot set a module from inside a course or set a lesson from inside a module.

If you want to display ‘breadcrumbs’ across the top of your lesson, you can insert a combination of HTML and Namaste shortcodes as follows:

    Course Catalog ? [namaste-course-link] ? [namaste-module-link] ? {post-title}

This will create a clickable line like “Course Catalog ? Course Name ? Module Name ? Lesson Name” as a breadcrumbs trail. I may not be precise about the syntax here as I use Elementor Page Builder to build my pages. You can also substitute the ‘chevrons’ with whatever separator character works for you.

The Namaste shortcode [namaste-course-lessons] will display ONLY the lessons related to that course, NOT all of the lessons in your LMS. The relationship between course / module / lesson is maintained although, sadly, the one thing Namaste does not provide is a way to properly display a hierarchy of Course / Modules / Lessons as a clickable column. Almost every other LMS provides this feature but as yet Namaste does not do so.

Just a follow-up on this support: there have been two updates to Profile Builder since this thread and both have reset ‘Email’ back to ‘E-mail’ causing the line to break at the hyphen. As I mentioned earlier, this is the only occasion in Profile Builder where mail is spelled with a hyphen.

Any chance we could get this fixed in the next release? Thanks.

I have been building my LMS website for the past few months using Elementor with the Hello theme. The LMS part that I am using is Namaste (available here on www.remarpro.com) and I have purchased the Namaste Pro add-ons for extra features.

Namaste is very stable. It is shortcodes-based and (for the MOST part) they work very well with Elementor & Hello. I have had only ONE technical issue: a courses / lessons search widget, which displays horizontally when used in Namaste’s theme, stacks all the search boxes on top of each other when used with Hello. The only way I was able to solve this (other than using the Namaste Theme which I did not want to do) was to replace Hello with GeneratePress, another very lightweight (but NOT Elementor produced) theme that works perfectly with Elementor nonetheless.

Which to choose depends on what is important for you in the “look & feel” of the LMS. Everything else that I’ve used in Namaste works perfectly with both Hello / Elementor and GeneratePress / Elementor. The only difference (apart from the search box issue) is to ensure that, with GeneratePress, you must set each new page that you create to “Elementor Full Canvas” instead of “default Template”.

I have two pages setup for courses, one for guests (the default “my courses” archive page) and one for logged-in users (a custom page), with URL redirects should a guest try to access the logged-in user page. However, it does involve quite a bit of effort including the ability to create custom post blocks (filtered by queries), being able to set user access levels and the facility to enable redirects.

However, if all you want to do is present a course (or indeed your entire website) in another language, you could consider a plugin like TranslatePress (available on www.remarpro.com). There are various levels of sophistication available depending on whether you get the free or premium version but the key point here is that you DO NOT need two versions of your course pages. Translations are stored as part of the underlying pages database and you simply offer the user a menu option to choose one or the other version (in your case, English or Spanish). On the premium version, if you wish, you can even have it default to one of the languages depending on the user’s IP address.

Worth exploring before shifting from an otherwise excellent plugin like Namaste! I’m still experimenting with the translate plugin in conjunction with Namaste LMS for purposes similar to your own and so far I’ve had no major issues.

Shortcodes added with the 2.3.8.1 update. Thank you. ??

This error seems to have been eliminated with the 2.3.8.1 update. Thanks you ??

When creating a new module, you should see all of the options that can be set, including setting a relationship to a course and dependencies on previous modules. If you do not see this, look to the bottom of the screen, where you will see the words “Namaste! Setting”. Click on this and all of the options will open up below this.

For modules, you will see the option “Assign to Course” followed by a drop-down option to select the appropriate one. For lessons, you will see the same option for selecting a course and then a second drop-down for selecting the appropriate module within that course. Choices operate “upwards” meaning that you choose a course from inside a module and choose a module from inside a lesson. You cannot select “downwards”, meaning you cannot set a module from inside a course or set a lesson from inside a module.

In both cases you can also set dependencies on previous modules / lessons. The shortcodes necessary for displaying these in your pages or custom posts are also shown here.

All error messages (including the two new ones) so far now gone with version 1.52. Thanks guys! Will keep you informed.

No problem, and yes, Maria Db message shows backend only. Might be worth mentioning that while the ‘MariaDb message’ seemed to be a Cluevo’s message box, the new errors are WordPress Db error messages

OK, new error when I refresh posts:

Warning: mysqli_connect(): (HY000/2002): Connection refused in /volume1/web/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/cluevo-lms/functions/functions.inc.php on line 803

Do you want to take this offline?

Installed your latest 1.51 now and the nasty error message has not reappeared. The original MariaDb message is still displayed but it seems to have no impact on any data creation, display or run-time.

I rolled back to version 1.47 (I use WP Rollback to protect against plugin update errors). Original MariaDb error still there but new error gone away.
