In reply to: Backend shows no plugins installed on non-hacked siteHi, yes mail poet is running and yes I did have strange code at the top.
I have a strong user name and long complicated password and they can get in through a plugin?!
I wonder why BruteProtect was no use? I guess because WordPress shut down it’s plugin.
Thanks for the guide I’ll take a look, thanks for taking the time to reply, kudos!

In reply to: Rotate/Adjust Pics in WP PostI use chrome for browsing and if you look at the image you posted above and ‘right click/inspect element’ you can look at the code for that image and although the file name shows the numbers the right way around, when you hover over the highlighted image code a little pop up window shows the actual image is listed as 480 wide and 640 tall as displayed.
You can also click ctrl and the letter U (to view source code) and scroll down to line 192 to look at the code for the image which displays properly on the blogspot link but not on the other one!
But that’s all I know, anyone else??

In reply to: Rotate/Adjust Pics in WP PostGo to the updates section and that also tells you what version you have.
Strange that the ‘at a glance’ isn’t displaying the version (and your theme) at the bottom of the box though.

In reply to: Rotate/Adjust Pics in WP PostVery strange! How do the images display on your actual site?
Are the width and height ‘dimensions’ the right way around in the image ‘edit media’ page?
Also, I have rotate options on my media edit pages….What version of WordPress are you using?

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: spam users are registering in my websiteHi,
How are people signing up? For a newsletter or blog updates or as a user etc?I had lots of spammers trying to sign in so I changed the user profile to prevent it but then I am the only author on my site so I just disabled the ability for others to register under settings/general (unclick anyone can register)
But I am afraid that spam is a part of being a webmaster! I get hundreds of brute force attacks every day on my site but you just take steps to ensure they can’t get in.
Cheers

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Add images to commentsAlso need this option…..
Would like to stay ‘within’ jetpack for pure simplicity of use!
Any hint of an ETA?
Thanks Jeremy,
I’ll take a look but what’s puzzling me is how this happens. I haven’t touched the site in days and yet all of a sudden all these pretty terminal problems!Difficult to get accurate info. Was the server down as hostpappa said or is something else going on entirely I wonder?
All great when it works, but difficult to understand when it goes wrong for us semi tech literate!
Thanks for taking the time Jeremy, appreciate it.

In reply to: Stuck in maintenance mode after updating plugins….Phew, talked too soon, the maintenance screen has cleared now. ( 5 mins or so)
I wonder if it was because one of the plugins was not active and yet I chose to update it (W3 Total cache).
Anyoo, all’s well that ends well.
Thanks!

In reply to: How to Update (Re-upload) Media FilesThanks Eric,
I wanted to update a couple of free giveaway templates of mine and was scratching my head (well googling anyways!).Duh, didn’t think about straightforward FTP, sometimes we (well me!) miss the blindingly obvious sometimes!
Ta muchly for that!
Cheers
IanWow, you sittin on that laptop Pete!
Thanks, that shouldn’t scare anyone off clicking now should it! Time to give it a trial run and see what happens to the stats!
Thanks Pete and good luck,
Cheers
IanHi Pete,
Many thanks for getting back to me, appreciate it.
Sure, I understand that it needs an amazon link to function, but my question was more about if the reader can see what is going on.
For example, say I have a plain amazon link in my text and the plugin enabled with all my affiliate id’s; when the reader hovers over or clicks the plain link, what happens or what do they see? I assume the plugin redirects the URL somehow, but will this alarm more web savvy readers?
Sorry not to have made it clearer in the first message!
Thanks again Pete,
Cheers
IanYour welcome gmoses, I do wonder why it has not been addresses before now though.
I can’t even find much chatter about it. Maybe all those who count are firefox fans!
I even have a problem with chrome deleting my youtube links that does not happen with firefox.
Computers eh!
CheersI know, but what to do to ‘fix’ it?
I can’t be bothered to change browsers now, esp not back to Explorer.
I’ll keep looking. Got to have the edit feature as I am a terrible ‘fiddler’ with layouts after I have posted etc lol

In reply to: Bug? In Chrome, when you try and edit an image optionsNot sure, but given how many people use chrome I am amazed that there is not more buzz about it.
I never had the resize ‘handles’ either, I wonder if that is just from the latest update?
Shall I start another thread and see if anyone notices it (lol!)?
