Hello Everyone,
Are there any other options for accomplishing this. I am using WP 4.0 and the Twenty Fourteen theme plus a child theme. Pretty frequently people may not want to display the author or post date on the category or individual post view.
I tried both of those options but my skill level is not high enough yet. I did not break anything that I know of but also was unsuccessful in hiding the date and author. I also tried the Plugin titled “WP Author, Date and Meta Remover”.In the meantime the solution is to use pages instead of posts.
Are there are any other processes to remove the post date and author data?

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] How to make contact form 7 responsive? This is an old thread, but does anyone care to be more specific on what to do with that code? I can edit the child theme. I added that line to the child theme style.css file and nothing happened. I added it as the last line by its self. I tried both Frank’s code and vegastriguy’s. Using WordPress of course.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Mobile deviceThe solution was to disable all the other plugins then the slideshow began working on both phones and computers. Issue solved!

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Mobile deviceHate to be difficult, For a time the slideshow worked perfectly on cell phones but did not work at all on computers. I have deactivated and reactivated, run the Quick Setup a few times, put the settings all back to the way they were. No Luck. Now it does not run on either cell phones or computers.

backticks’I ran the quick setup on my other installation of this plugin and changed the one field to auto and it works perfectly on both cell phones and computers. No problem on that installation, just this one.
I am using the WordPress 2014 default theme. May experiment with a different theme.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks, IanForum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Mobile deviceThanks natureshutterbug! Good suggestion.
I also found that the issue was caused my my not doing the Quick Setup. I have used this plugin before and never completed the quick setup. It turns out the quick setup is not optional! Once I completed the Quick Setup the slideshow and photo gallery began functioning on the phones. I also took your advice and changed the slideshow width to 540.
Thanks!
Now I am going to go to the other site where I installed this plugin and make sure to complete the Quick Setup.
I am glad that was an easy solution. I really like how this plugin works. JonForum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Mobile deviceDid that actually work?
I tried changing the value from 640 to auto and it stopped the slideshow from working on phones and made the website appear half width on the phones. Then I went to Settings Table 1, B and attempted to enter auto in the first field and fit into the second field but an error occured indicating a numeric value was required.
Jacob, are you sure this plugin be made to be responsive?

In reply to: [Column-Matic] how do you use this plugin? It turns out this Plugin does work quite well. Here is an example. https://www.docrodman.com
Instructions as I see it to make two columns:
Insert Short Code [twocol_one] before the start of the content for the first column. Then at the end of the content for the first column, insert this short code [/twocol_one]To start the second column insert this short code: [twocol_one_last] At the end of the second column insert these short codes to end the second column and make any additional content in single column format. [/twocol_one_last] [end_columns][/end_columns]
Really works well. Also, if you have the Ultimate TinyMCE plugin installed there is a button that gives people a super easy way to insert these short codes!
Thanks Brandon for a really nice tool to create content columns! The reason this is especially important right now is that many website visitors are using smart phones to visit websites and breaking content up into columns makes the content look great on a phone!

In reply to: [Column-Matic] how do you use this plugin?Hello Baden, Good effort, but still can’t make this plugin work. It sounds like a good idea, but those short codes just don’t end up making anything into columns.
Maybe the confusion comes into play with where to insert the short codes. I assumed that the first short code should be inserted prior the the content for the first column, then the second short code should be inserted prior to the second column content and then the third or end columns should be inserted after the end of the content for the second column.
That does not work. I suspect there is a way to make it work but there must be a secret trick I don’t know.
What is the situation with WordPress themes and Internet Explorer as it pertains to favicons? I have four sites which have favicons uploaded into the themes. The favicons display in Firefox and Chrome but not Internet Explorer. These sites have been running for weeks or months. It is not a time issue. I view the sites on four different computers here at home.
The sites are:

Thanks, Ian
So, I have read all these posts. I don’t see one that applies to my situation. I have a site that has been working well for six months. I have not made any changes within the last couple weeks but yesterday the site went down. I tried to restore it from a backup but that did not work.
The error:index.php
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function auth_redirect() in
/hermes/bosoraweb127/b1321/ipw.jonrodmancom/public_html/fortmillplayhouse/wp-admin/admin.php
on line 69My hosting company is looking into getting the site back up but said it is a WordPress issue and not their issue.
If the hosting company gets the site working again, Does anyone have ideas about what I should do to prevent this from happening again?
I have other websites with similar themes and plugins that seem rock solid. I kind of suspect W3 Total Cache or WP Photo Album but have about 7 other plugins installed also.
Using the backup function I attempted to reinstall the admin.php file and then attempted to restore the whole site but without success. I was kind of surprised that I could not restore the site.
Everything was up to date as of a month ago and working fine.
Any ideas are appreciated!
Ian
