In reply to: WordPress app on android will not post anymoreI created a new install of WP and started adding plug-ins etc to mirror my site. After a couple of false starts I got it to fail after configuring JetPack. Not entirely sure if this is the only cause – I also reverted from PHP7 to 5.6 along the way. But I now have it where enabling JetPack causes the posts from the Android app to fail (and once they fail they will keep failing until you re-start your phone) but if I disable JetPack they will post OK.
I’ll keep trying – but at least this gives me something to work with.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Issue with WordPress app on android??Update: completely deleteing the WP Fastest Cache plugin has had no effect either – post still all fail from the Android app.

In reply to: WordPress app on android will not post anymoreAn interesting detail. If I add a photo to the post, the photo is saved to the image library, but the post still fails to publish (same invalid term ID error).

In reply to: WordPress app on android will not post anymoreHi Matthew
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Both the WordPress site and the app are both set to auto-update and are at the latest versions. WP is 4.8.1. The app is 7.9
I’m just baffled why the app works fine on the iPad but not on the Android phone. I have tried uninstalling the app, rebooting the phone and then reinstalling – didn’t help – still got the error.
thanks
Ian

In reply to: 4.8.1 Editor role can only see own content in Media LibraryThere may be hope yet…
I selectively deactivated all the plugins connected with posts or images. After deactivating one called “User Submitted Posts” which is a simple front end post editor. I got visibility back of the Media Library for Editors. I then started activating them all one at a time and testing. It all works fine now. I then reactivated the “User Submitted Posts” as a final test fully expecting the problem to return – it didn’t. So, the problem has gone away and I have all my plugins reactivated. I don’t understand, but I’m not complaining ??Forum: Plugins

Many thanks – IanForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Portfolio Gallery - Photo Gallery] Display image titles in LightboxDo you have an email address where I can send you the screen shots. The attach file function on the “contact us” form on Huge-IT.com does not work on my Mac (Safari or Firefox).
Thanks
Ian

In reply to: [Portfolio Gallery - Photo Gallery] Display image titles in LightboxUpdate:
2. The available Lightbox Options in the free version “Lightbox style, Lightbox open speed etc” the save button is greyed out in Safari so does not work – however the button is visible in Firefox on the same MacBook pro and appears to work. The option to “show title” is not present on either browser either active or greyed out.
I can email screen shots of this helps
OK – worked this one out. Can either completely turn off the admin bar for normal members from UM or use a plugin such as AG Custom Admin to remove the “edit profile” from the drop down.

In reply to: pictures stripped from .pdf when loaded into media libraryMany thanks Innuvo for the pointer – it was indeed connected with the PDF creation. The guy who created them used quark and compressed the content. By reducing the amount of compression, Chrome handled the pictures correctly.

In reply to: pictures stripped from .pdf when loaded into media libraryMany thanks for the quick reply. I’m not sure on how the pdf was created – but that is a good suggestion. I’ll get back to the author and check.
Looking further into this it looks like it may be a Chrome issue. IE9/11 and Safari appear to render the pdf correctly…
Well – I bit the bullet and tried the jquery.simplemodal fix detailed by zenixLR. It works for me!!!
Tested it with IE9, Firefox 21.0, safari 5.1.10.
Phew!! Back in business for now…Just checked the link supplied by lorax there is now a reply by the author dated 19th December stating:
I am no longer able to update/support the Ajax Event Calendar plugin for
WordPress
.Alternative Free Calendar Plugins:
https://www.blazdesign.com/5-free-wordpress-calendar-plugins/So looks like we are on our own now!
Many thanks to zenixLR and others for advice – I may have to replace with an alternative – which is a real pain as I have many events set up…

In reply to: [Event Calendar] magic_quotes_gpc set to activeI also get that message displayed. Other threads on this subject talk of adding the setting magic_quotes_gpc=off to the php.ini file. I have tried this both in the root directory and also the wordpress directory. However, the error message is still displayed on all dashboard pages.
Having said that, the plugin is excellent!
