If it happens again I will try disabling other plugins first to see if I can find a conflict. Thanks for your response, good job on the plugins! They have been useful for me.

I gave up since I was on a shared host and didn’t see much benefit of this over the EWWW Image Optimizer.
I encourage you to double check your PATH to make sure the littleutils binaries are available. It could also be a permissions thing, like the http server not having permission to access the binaries.
You might get some clues from your server’s log files.

All the utilities are accessible via SSH and have been added to the PATH along with the “LD_LIBRARY_PATH”.
The plugin still detects the binaries as missing and if I override it, I get the “Bad response from optimizer” error as well.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the explanation, I can confirm the same results. I could always add the Twitter card data manually for the home page but I question if it’s really necessary. So I’ve decided to leave it for now.

Update: I found some more information and will experiment with alternative WP Cron.

My host has blocked self requests, or HTTP loopback I think it’s called.
Is there a workaround with BackWPup? I am searching for alternatives now.
I am having the same issue after recent server upgrades.
Was there any solution to your problem, James?

I was just fiddling with this myself, I don’t know if there is a way to do what you are asking.
But I have found this for example:
[date* departure value:"2012-12-28"]
Pre-selects the date in the date-picker, but does not change the formatting or display in the text box.

My issue was I was just using Firebug to inspect the page, and it doesn’t show comments which I had overlooked.
When I view the actual page source I can see the DB Cache doing its job.
