i have also been able to adjust margins.

now i am stuck trying to figure out how to load a banner image(?).

you know the default Thematic style is really pretty good for me. i have next to nil programming experience. can anybody just point me in the direction of styling margins and column widths. that’s all that i want to change for now. i just figred out how to change the typeface.

i fixed it. here it is updated with the old content https://hydrophytesblog.com/user/. now i just have to start working on style.

i have a second dumb question. will this procedure also move my image files, or will i have to go back and get those? maybe they will stay with the original server(?).

that file path didn’t produce anything. i found a php file “upload” in another spot. this is the closest thing that i could find to what you describe:

if (!current_user_can(‘upload_files’))
wp_die(__(‘You do not have permission to upload files.’));

is this the right piece of code? what do i do with it?

OK, i have snooped around some more think that i am going to go with small orange.

does anybody else have any opinions about them?

i guess ASO and AEY look pretty good. i wondered about AEY being based in Europe, but i see that they have data canter and call center in California. anybody else have any observations on those two companies?

this shouldn’t matter so much, but both of those hosts use clean, contemporary visual style on their home pages. it’s hard to put much faith in a Web host with clunky old Web design.

and alright, i’m obviously a noob. which bad things can happen with shared hosting aside from slow speeds? also, what alternatives are there to shared?
