There are a few different options on both of those how-to pages. Can anybody recommend a best fix for this situation?

Ugh. That looks tricky. There isn’t a whole lot of content in there yet, so I wonder if it might be easier to just start over and build a new site(??).

I am about to pull the trigger here. I keep running into stuff from a couple of different shops while looking around. I think I am going to select a theme from either https://templatic.com/ or https://storefrontthemes.com.

Does anybody have any opinions on either/both of these?

I selected a new theme, Carrington Blog. Here’s the link to the site again HydrophytesBlog.com.

Does anybody out there have any experience with this theme? I wonder how well I can find support(?). Overall I think that it looks OK, but I would need to fix the image alignment and a few other issues. I also can’t get my blogroll to display(?).

Does anybody else have any specific recommendations? My most important constraint is width of the main column–I really would prefer to retain the current 500 pixel width. I don’t see much about specs like that in the short descriptions provided with themes.

any ideas anybody? it’s pretty sleepy over at themeshaper.

can anybody guess where i can figure out the width of that sidebar, so that i can PhotoShop a logo graphic for it? i don’t care to change it’s dimension–it looks good as is.

never mind my image upload problem. they helped over there and now it’s fixed.

i haven’t made it yet, but it will be a small, short rectangle, maybe 75 X 150px or so.

there is a /sidebar.php, as well as several variations, including /sidebar-page-bottom.php, sidebar-subsidiary.php and so on. could /sidebar-single-insert.php be useful for this?

while we’re here, if you have a moment, my image upload is also broken. i get an error message indicating that it can’t write to its default directory. i started a thread:

i was moving folders around some and just didn’t know how to update.

anybody? i’m dyin’ ova’ here!

there must be someplace where is can adjust that setting and get new uploaded images to point to the right directory.

well i tried my alternative, creating new nested folders so a picture could follow that file path, but that didn’t work either. can anybody guess where this problem might be?
