i checked this. The problem comes from the Plugin “WPML Multilingual CMS”. When i activate this the meta description from the startpage is gone anway.
The problem is, that i need this plugin, because our site is multilingual. I will contact WPML….

yes i cam confirm that, but nothing is shown on the start page.
I use Yoast 14.6.1.

i have also the problem, that the standard meta description from the Yoast seetings no more working. All sites, that have a alternative description working fine, but on the home site the description tag <meta...>is missing. I don’t know why?
Have you any idea?

i have the same problem. Switching to the h4 does not solve the problem either. Every website is structured differently and therefore has different structures. On my website it ends for example: with the headline h2, i.e. when using the plugin I get an error under SEO aspects. Now I have changed it from <h4> to <p>. But this will be overwritten with the next update. It would be a better idea to change it from your side to <p>. It does not harm the design and you improve your plugin in terms of SEO significantly ??
