solution: add “ErrorDocument 401 default” to the base htaccess file to prevent WordPress from interfering when it gets to password protected directories.

Talking about Woocommerce here, sorry if I’ve hit the wrong channel.

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be rude. I am a developer myself. But in such cases, I just want to USE something without having to dive deep into internals for a “simple” translation to work. I see it as a developer when I ask for “Loco checking for permissions”. It could as well save you a lot of time answering these kind of questions. Thanks again for your quick help.

How about Loco checking the directory and if it cannot write there, give some useful info to the user instead of saving the files somewhere useless?! And saying nothing! This is annoying and as far as I can see the main reason for many many users having problems!

The directory has rights set to 750.
So I’d guess it is writebale by server / owner.
What else does Loco need?
