I have already done the following:

deactivated all pluggins and that didn’t fix it.

deleted all inactive pluggins

these didn’t work so i have turned all pluggins back on

from your suggestions i have switched themes to classic and that didn’t help so i put it back on default.

for the last suggestion ‘- repaired/checked your database?’ how shoudl i go about this?

I had exactly the same problem. I have also tried to creating a new database at version 5.0.22 and then taking a backup of the current db and restoring it to the new db but I get this error:

ERROR 1064 (42000) at line 185: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the
manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use
near ‘default varchar(128) NOT NULL default ‘0’,
active char(1) NOT NULL default ‘1” at line 7

any advice would be useful?

Thanks. Replacing the comments.php did the trick. Not sure what I changed in it but restoring an old version fixed everything.

I have a similar issue. When I visit a broken link that doesn’t exist on my site like https://www.hubbers.com/index.php/fubar-page-link i get the bog standard “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.” page returned.

i have done the simple steps on the instructions correctly (i think).

could it be because i am on an iis server? sadly i cannot change.
