Okay.. SERIOUS problem. I followed the directions EXACTLY AS WRITTEN, omitting step 6, and now it’s going back to the admin login page…. no problem, only magically now I can’t get in to my own site, and the password isn’t working, and the password retrieval thing isn’t mailing me anything.

I’m not locked out of my own site. This REALLY sucks… HELP! EMERGENCY!

What you sent me (and I’ve read it TWICE now) is about MOVING wordpress and “all it’s files” to a “new directory” …
this is NOT what I was asking. I was asking … IF I point the domain name to the folder it’s already IN… do I just go reset in SETTINGS that the domain and all that stuff is the DOMAIN name instead of the long blahblah.com/hidden/test/blog type address.

I do NOT want to move the files once I have it all set up, ALL I want to do is point the domain to THAT folder.

    Can that be done?

That’s not what I was asking. It already HAS it’s own directory. What I ASKED was … when I’m finished tweaking the blog… and I point the DOMAIN NAME to go to that ALREADY FORMED directory where WP is running a beautiful polished blog. Can I change the SETTINGS that the URL and stuff like that is the domain name or do I need to start again from scratch because when I set up WP it was a different “domain subdirectory”.

I knew how to fix my problem last night, I”m not a complete idiot, I’ve been using WP for over 4 years… but I’ve never made a blog “under covers” before to launch at a later date. I know how to point domains and all that jazz… but if I POINT the domain to the folder, what do I change in the SETTINGS section without losing the whole blog?

    Like I did last night.

Before I started over, new SQL and all that stuff. Pain in the butt if I’m going to have to start over anyhow, This is for a business, so I want it to LAUNCH lookin’ good.
