I have WP 2.0.1 and run on GoDaddy and was having the same problem. I found a plugin that seems to fix it. Its the No Ping Wait plugin available here:

Just upload and activate and your all set. Apparently its timing out when pinging other blogs. I don’t have any trackbacks on my blog yet but it sure did the trick for me.

I found a plugin that helps with the problem of database connection errors when posting. It is the No Ping Wait plugin and since I have been using it I have not had any connection errors. You can get it here:

Just put it in your plugins folder and activate then your all set.

You can do it without any plugins. Simply use the following url:

https://www.myblog.com/?feed=rss2&author=(the author’s id)

Even if you have nice URL’s turned on this will still fool wordpress into giving you the feed for that author. The same also works for categories. Just change author= to cat=

I have been receiving the same errors. Sometimes it actually results in a double post. I thought at first it was related to some of my plugins so I deactivated all of them and did a couple more posts. Still had the same problems.

I am starting to wonder if this is something in the WPDB class or in the post class that is causing extra long loops to be performed?
