Thanks for your trying to help.
I updated the theme to 3.8.5 version, yet still no checkbox. Went through the settings to see if there’s something I missed out, but everything looks OK there. As I said, I updated, not reinstalled, as I am not keen on reinstalling, due to negative experience.
I didn’t change anything so far, in case you decide to keep looking for the solution, but in the end, maybe I could do without the name and email section, just to leave an option for writing a message or comment.

First, thank you for answering.
You are right about the plug in – it is supported (when i activate that plug in, in the settings I get the option of linking it to privacy policy in my website), yet when I visit my site that checkbox is not visible, and what is more, although I fill in the message, name and the email address, can’t send it because I get the note that I didn’t accept the privacy policy.
Do I maybe need to reactivate/reset all the plug ins or anything like that?
