    In reply to: plug-in permissions

I only know that a 777 permission code will give you complete control of your plug-in; however, be sure to write down the 644 permission code in case you need to change it back from 777.

In case you do not know how to change the permission:

    My host at:

    https://www.bluehost.com

allows me to merely right click, select chmod, enter 777 (or any permission code desired), click OK, and I am off and running.

Hope your host does the same, and I truly hope this has helped in some way.

    Hey moshu,

I got up this morning. I went to check my e-mail, and someone let me know they could not get to a WP post I sent them. I put the article link into IE, hit enter, and I keep getting all the following:

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

I’ve check all php, and it is solid.

Everything was running fine when I went to bed last night, but this morning my WP is down.

Nothing I have related to both of my WordPress installations are working as of this morning. I haven’t changed a thing.

Sure would like some help or advice.

    Hi,

    I have been using:

    https://www.bluehost.com

for more than 7 years. The WP auto-install works incredibly well. In fact I have two installations of WP 2.3, and they both are working great!

Check it out, they are very low cost too!

    Sincerely,

Could this be your infamous hacker,or am I just out of luck?
