    thanks for the reply.

    i added:

    “padding:8px o;”

to the bottom of my rss feed text widget code and all that happened was the code actually appeared on my site. do i have to actually add the code inside the existing code somewhere? sorry i really am clueless?

i’ve deleted the theme and reinstalled it so its back to normal.

edit: i know what file i’ve to edit in order to get the postratings plug in to work but i just don’t know where exactly to place the code in order to get the stars to appear under the post instead of on top of the post.

can anyone help? can anyone also tell me what it means to try an error?

    thanks, Jamie.

i’m not sure what you mean by what is the path i upload to? does that mean like wp-content, themes, ProSense-Grey, ProSense-Grey, index.php? thats how i got to the file i changed.

also not sure what “you should always try an error” means either?

    appreciate your help though.

hey i worked out how to put sociable on all the pages so thats cool, thnaks.

however i’ve had an absolute disaster trying to sort postratings! in the read me it said find “<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>” and add “<?php if(function_exists(‘the_ratings’)) { the_ratings(); } ?>” anywhere below it. now i’ve got no idea about coding so just put it right underneath it. that was fine but the stars ended up right above the video. so i thought if i paste the code below some other lines a bit further down it might move to below the video. whats actually happened is the home page is mutilated. i’ve no idea how to get it back to normal either. i tried puting the index.php file back in as it was again but that didn’t work. i then deleted postratings plug in completely, that didn’t work. then i uploaded postratings from scratch again and activated it, still not working.

if you can tell me what i’ve done wroing and how to fix it i’d really appreciate it.

    thanks, Jamie.

so all i have to do is take the full downloaded unzipped 2.3.3 version and then upload it using filezilla and overwrite every file?

another thing i’m not too sure on, i used the guide online to back up my database with phpmyadmin but im not sure what to do with backing up the actual site? i know what i’ve to do with copying it all over from the ftp but i’m not exactly sure what files i should be copying. should i just click on the “…” folder and copy everything in there?

sorry if these are all really straight forward things but i’m not sure that even what i’ve done so far is right and i don’t want to make a complete mess of it all.

hi jane, thanks for the reply. it turned out the ones that didn’t work were in double folders, i’ll look out for that in future.

    thanks again.
