This sounds like a Permalinks issue.

Please login to WordPress and go to Settings -> Permalinks and cLick Save.
You should be able to see the posts.

I have a couple of thoughts, but knowing the specific website(s) would be helpful if you want to provide that information.

The main domain of the multisite is where you will always login to manage themes and plugins.

Multisite can be setup to login to the individual domains so you will login to the individual domains rather than mysite.com/site1 or site1.mysite.com

What settings are you using in your domain mapping plugin?

What web browser are you using on your Mac? I would recommend you not use Safari, but use Firefox or Google Chrome because Safari sometimes does have problems with WordPress when editing post or working in the Admin.

to login to your website? That is the normal place you would go to administer WordPress.

Where did you add the code?

You can add ftp details to the wp-config.php file. But the syntax escapes me at the moment…

Either is fine but you will have to add redirects in Google search console if you change slugs. That will maintain your SEO for those posts. ??

There are many good lightbox plugins like foo galleries which would help you with that.

Did you setup multisite to use sub domains or sub directories? Running locally you would have to add each sub domain to your hosts file and maybe some other changes.

Multisite with Sub directories is much easier to setup.

Yes. And if you cannot disable the plugins or login to WordPress, you will need to ftp into your account and delete those plugins.

Hackers sometimes get the best of us. You will need to find the root of the hack and remove it. This is easier said than done, but I personally use a paid service because they are experts.

If you have multiple websites in your account that makes cleanup very difficult because infections tend you spread throughout your hosting account.

I would also recommend you look into a company like sucuri.net which specializes in site clean up.
