anelson – It is easy to get started with WordPress, even without prior programming experience. You can buy a hosting account with 1-click WordPress install to get you up and running fast. Then you can select your own themes – you can work it out from the control panel without reading the WP codex. You can install plugins easily enough and customise them from the control panel.
But your requirements are more complicated than a basic install. If you want some posts to be viewable to the public, others for your students, PayPal subscriptions, particular design or layout etc. then you will spend a lot of time learning.
Your time is better off spent making videos. Hire a professional with lots of WordPress experience. Use them for a couple of hours here and there as you need. Keep the brief simple so it doesn’t cost you much.
