Hey everybody,
I’m one of Jeremy’s co-workers. We screwed up. This very unfortunate problem was a system-wide issue on our end. It is now confirmed fixed. It’s safe to re-enable everything if you had anything disabled.
We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.

In reply to: Transfer subscribers from wordpress.comThe subscriber number at WordPress.com includes email subscriptions plus WordPress.com reader subscriptions.
There isn’t an equivalent of the WordPress.com reader on the self-hosted side. The self-hosted side only counts email subscribers.

In reply to: Transfer subscribers from wordpress.comHi all,
I’ve moved your subscriptions over as requested. @tinelunoe, are you using Jetpack Subscriptions with the new (self-hosted) site?

In reply to: Guided Transfer Help :)Hi MarkySharky,
Yep, Rev. Voodoo is spot on. WordPress.com is kept running by a crack team of sysadmins who take security extraordinarily seriously.
Weak, reused passwords are the way most sites are “hacked”. They are guessed in many cases and if someone gets into the email account you use for all your other services, it’s game over.
I’d recommend checking out this article:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/selecting-a-strong-password/Strong, unique passwords for your services will keep you pretty darn safe.

In reply to: Guided Transfer has caused problems@aussiecriminals we’ve sent a couple emails to you — let me know if they don’t come through for some reason.
I reviewed your new site and all seems to be well with it. I think you (and some of your readers) are noticing the side effect of your DNS change settling. Some viewers will be seeing your old (WPCOM) site and some will be seeing your new self-hosted site for the next few hours.
