In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menuI’ve just got a Freelancer from Fiverr into AMP to look into my issue. Let’s see if he can find anything. I keep my WP extremely lean. No page builder or any jazz is going on. I can’t think of anything that would change the HTML markup…

In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menuHere is the answer from AWS support.
They mention they do not make any host-related changes.
They suggest I post something on the Bitnami forum which I have already done https://community.bitnami.com/t/amp-plugin-not-working-wpml-not-working-french-to-english/101320.
Do you think I should try the Kadence forum?thanks

Hello,Thanks for contacting Premium Support. My name is Drew, and I will be assisting you today.
I understand you are having issues getting the official Google AMP plugin to work on your Bitnami wordpress Lightsail instance, and are inquiring if we know of any hosting related optimizations with the Bitnami instance images that would cause Google AMP to fail.
All Bitnami WordPress images are provided by Bitnami themselves. As such, we do not make any host related optimizations specifically for Bitnami wordpress images. They are also third-party products, so we can only offer support on a best-effort basis for issues like the one you are currently experiencing.
I’ve looked to see if I can find any mention of issues with the Bitnami wordpress and Google AMP plugin for wordpress on AWS, and the only resource I’ve been able to find is an article from Bitnami’s forums from a few years ago [1]. I haven’t been able to find any resources on the issues from AWS.
I can see you have contacted WordPress support about the issue. I would recommend that Bitnami support may be able to better assist, as they are the ones who made the Lightsail image [2].
From my end, I can look at the status of the instance and see that it is running fine, with no errors on health checks, but I have no way to take a look at what is actually being hosted on the instance itself, per our data privacy policies. If I were to assist any further, I would need more details on the error being seen to begin researching what is going on.
If you have any other questions, feel free to reach back out!

In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menuThanks James,
On my production website DearReal.com
1 Deactivated the child theme to use the Kadence normal theme from the Appearance menu.
2 Activated the AMP plugin on the standard-setting.
=> was unable to get the menu to work on the mobile responsive version.
3. I have now reset things to normal in case someone visits my site.I’ve done the same on https://3.10.70.14 so you can check
1. Activated the main Kandence theme
2. Kept the AMP setting to transitional
3. Checked on https://3.10.70.14/?AMP/ that the responsive menu does not work on mobile. To my amazement, the menu is working.I really don’t understand what is going on here.
Not sure what to add but thanks for holding in there for me.Henri

In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menuHi James,
Sorry for my slow reply some major fires needed to extinguish.
Any changes I do the troubleshooting mode on the AMP plugin or any other one end up with the message:
“When enabling the plugin, XXXX, a site failure occurred.”I have a vanilla install of an AWS bitnami WordPress with Kadence theme and the WPML plugin available.
I thought I would do some tests there at https://www.bartillat.com.
I put the transitional mode and checked https://bartillat.com/?AMP/.
The mobile menu works there.Sorry for having such a messy issue!
Thanks for your help;

In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menuI have just made the changes to the mobile redirection in AMP.
I made a zip file of my child template through your form.
I am not sure this is of interest but mentioning this anyway.
The Bitnami functioning with CloudFront has required me to change the wp-config.php for HomeURL and SiteURL formula for the below: define('WP_SITEURL', 'hidden link' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . '/'); define('WP_HOME', 'hidden link' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . '/'); if (isset($_SERVER['HTTP_CLOUDFRONT_FORWARDED_PROTO']) && $_SERVER['HTTP_CLOUDFRONT_FORWARDED_PROTO'] === 'https') { $_SERVER['HTTPS'] = 'on'; }
The HomeURL and SiteURL fields both show https://3.10.70.14 (https://www.DearReal.com on the other site).
Best,

In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menuHi James,
Thank you for everything you are doing.
I have submitted the IP site’s health info using your form (the IP URL. Thus, there are SSL issues).
I have switched the IP site’s AMP plugin to transitional.I have had problems with the Check & Troubleshooting plugin. It crashed my IP site’s themes. The great thing is that it made me dig into my themes settings.
Which made me realize that I had some CSS stuck in the customize panel of the main Kadence theme (on top of my child’s custom CSS). I had started without a child theme initially.Here is the first message I got from the Check and Troubleshooting plugin:
When switching the active theme to kadence-child, a site failure occurred. Because of this, we reverted the theme to the one you used previously. (that is Twenty-Twenty)When I try and activate the AMP plugin, I get the message:
When enabling the plugin, amp, a site failure occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.When trying to activate the Kandence theme (not the child one), I get this message.
When switching the active theme to kadence, a site failure occurred. Because of this we reverted the theme to the one you used previously.Now, if I go to check the theme, I get the following error message.
The active theme is broken. Reverting to the default theme.
Error: Stylesheet is missing.Looking at other changes the child theme could bring, the only file in the folder is the function.php pasted content below.
<?php /** * Enqueue child styles. */ function child_enqueue_styles() { wp_enqueue_style( 'child-theme', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css', array(), 100 ); } add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'child_enqueue_styles', 11 ); // Remove the // from the beginning of this line if you want the child theme style.css file to load on the front end of your site. /** * Add custom functions here */

In reply to: [AMP] Kadence hamburger mobile menu1. I have used the Kadence theme and then built my pages from scratch.
2. No other theme customization.
The Bitnami WordPress version is hosted on AWS. Maybe my issue comes from Bitnami modifications? I really can’t think of anything I have done for these modifications to occur.
Doing some research to answer your questions, I see the following sentence on the Bitnami AMP support page.“NOTE: As of this writing, the AMP plugin only works for WordPress posts and not pages.”
https://docs.bitnami.com/aws-templates/apps/wordpress/configuration/install-plugins-amp/
I’ve also just opened a ticket with the Bitani team: https://community.bitnami.com/t/amp-plugin-not-working-wpml-not-working-french-to-english/101320
Very grateful for your support James.
