Hi @jenhooks
Thanks for the time you and your colleagues invested.
We decided to turn off Jetpack, as we won’t be using any of the features.
Best regards
Hi @jenhooks
Just to make sure, are the settings for the URLs the below?
XML-RPC: https://www.helvetia-basel.ch/wordpress/xmlrpc.php
Wordpress-URL: https://www.helvetia-basel.ch/wordpress
Website-URL: https://www.helvetia-basel.chI’ll ask our host, as there are occasionally error messages from our logs hinting at insufficient memory allocated.
Also, I’m going to look into tracking access to the XML-RPC, to see if there’s unwanted traffic from elsewhere (as only Jetpack should access it).
Thanks and best regards.
Hi @jenhooks
I’m not talking about paid plans.
I’m talking about what I saw when I managed to connect Jetpack (it takes you to the “My Plans” page and that URL was wrong).
Now, whenever I go to the Jetpack dashboard, I get one or both of the following error messages:
(Sometimes)Jetpack Dashboard was unable to properly communicate with your website. Please check your website's error logs to see what's wrong.
and/or
(Always)Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.
If I select the Debug link at the bottom, it tells me that everything is working:
Your Jetpack setup looks a-okay!
I’m a bit at a loss now, as to what’s going on, since this definitely isn’t the same as with a test page we’ve tried.
Best regards
Hi @bruceallen
Thanks. The Plugin was able to connect, but the URL it generated to show “My Plan” was missing the
.../wordpress/...
part in the URL.The plugin dashboard is showing the error “Unable to insert blog. Please try again or contact support.” as before.
Regards

In reply to: [Plugin: MobilePress] Doesn’t work with super cache? Thanks for creating this plug-in!
It’s something I’ve been looking around for.Recently I’ve been testing it on the website I’m responsible for (https://www.helvetia-basel.ch) with more or less success.
We had the issue of the pages for mobile-phones being cached and served to the regular browsers.
Now after the update to MobilePress 1.0.3 it looks like FireFox 3.0.4 has no issues any more, but IE 7 ends up drawing the mobile pages all the time (once they’ve been cached). So for the time being I had to deactivate your plug-in.
We’re using WP 2.5.1 with a hacked wp-super-cache 0.8.4 along with PHP Speedy WP 0.4.7 (super-cache hacked to allow speedy to work with it – as per the fix suggested by the author of speedy)… and a couple of other plug-ins:
– Event Calendar (+ Widget) 3.1.4
– Google XML Sitemaps 3.1.0.1
– Redirection 2.0.11
– WordPress.com Stats 1.3.4
– WP Security Scan 2.3Best Wishes from Switzerland.
