In reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected, can't login, need help asapOk, that sounds easy…BUT…I’m running a self-hosted WP site, I bought the domain from GoDaddy, but they said I host through TheatreHost, and their website is “under construction” and they have absolutely NO contact info, login, anything…. what do you suggest I do??? I’ve done everything online, and have no WP download stuff or themes, some people said to use Dreamweaver to change it, but I have nothing, none of my stuff in the site root folder, it’s empty….????

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteOk, I figured out this much so far. I registered and bought my domain through GoDaddy. I spoke w/ them today trying to fix this all up, and they said I am have a self-hosted site with hosts through TheatreHost…and to get in touch w/ them…on their website it says, “site under renovations, thanks for your patience” soooo who knows how long it’ll take them to get back up AND there was no contact info, anything…I think getting ahold of the them would be easiest, because I really don’t know what I’m doing in Dreamweaver, I created a folder with my site name, but it just has a location on the web, nothings in the folder….I’m really sorry I’m just not with-it when it comes to these things…. greyzed is just in my “downloads folder” because I’ve never used WP download or my theme download….????

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteOhhh, well, I put for “save” for entire site for the functions file, nothing changed though…I’m not able to get onto my WP server account…all I am is back to the beginning with this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/tapout/public_html/wp-content/themes/greyzed/functions.php on line 32
but, it should have been fixed right, because I remotted back to an “error free” functions file???….line 32 on the original code is just blank space anyway…no text just an entered “break…”
Do you have any idea what to do??? I appreciate all your suggestions!

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteThat sounds so easy…but I’m not sure not sure how to get to “local files view”??? I’m using a MacBook Pro and running Dreamweaver to view my code…it’s just in code view, my options are “code, split, design, live view…etc” I see the put files, but I have the line 32 highlighted in blue and it keeps asking me to “put for entire site…” I’m really sorry, you’re so great for helping me ??

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteI just went ahead and tried highlighting the line 32 code and hitting put and it still says, “are you sure you want to put the entire site” even when I have the tiny “errored” part I want to change selecting…can you elaborate on “selecting and putting…” maybe I’m doing something wrong???

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteOk, soooo… if it says line 32 is my error, then just put the little arrow, highlight that line 32 code, and then the blue “put up” file icon by my siteroot folder, and it will only change just my errored line and not my whole site??

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteI’m just nervous because everything I have is online, but I get login back online, unless I fix this function problem, so before I hit that “accept to put for entire site” button, I want to be certain….? Thanks.

In reply to: Will uploading a .php file change your entire siteOk, yeah, I really don’t need to make any changes, because when I did, I obviously didn’t know what I was doing. So, when I upload the functions.php file to my site folder, it will only change the functions stuff, right, everything else will be uneffected???
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected, can't login, need help asapIt says, “are you sure you want to put the entire site?” so that just scares me, because I only wanted to replace the functions.php part…

In reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected, can't login, need help asapOk, I’m new to Dreamweaver, and I made a site root folder and made my site the FTP address, and now I’m trying to upload it, do I just export it or, sorry, it seems so easy I just want to make sure I’m doing it right… and this will only change the “functions” file right, not everything?

In reply to: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected, can't login, need help asapOk, I downloaded that fresh copy. So, what just go into dreamweaver with the functions.php file and then send it to upload through my WP site address( cause I registered my domain through them), I’m just afraid it’s going to delete all the hard work and everything I put into it???
