Solved due to PEBCAK reason.

Explanation: Widget was put in two widget areas, and I’ve looked at the wrong one in the front-end.

Which I did, of course. I was horrified by the idea to do this manually for 800 profiles ??

Strange. I am running 3.0.13, and I’ve seen this for a user (author). But maybe the user have been switched from admin to author, still keeping the old BackWPup role.

The reason is:

There is a website with about 800 authors. None of them should be able to do anything with BackWPup, none of them should even see BackWPup. The entire BackWPup-section should be seen and used by admins only, but should be invisible and unusable for editors, authors or subscribers.

I hoped to get a function, with changes the BackWPup role for everyone except admins to “None”.

Some setting, where the admin can assign BackWPup-roles to WP-roles….

@esmi Since I know forums in the internet (20+ years), they work the way users shape them according to their needs. And particularly here on www.remarpro.com I encounter a lot of threads continued even after a pause of years. If problems are unsolved for a long time, often enough a solution turns up years later and helps others.

Thank you, this fixed my problem with 3.0.9

Perfect. Works now independent of timezone settings.

Same problem with the free version (2.0.5). But I could get rid of it by setting “UTC-2” for the timezone in the wordpress settings. It did not vanish for “UTC+2”, though.

OK, it’s due to the fact, that WordPress (core) does not differentiate between categories and taxonomies (in wp-includes\nav-menu-template.php line ~333).

In our case we need to use also the plugin ‘The Events Calendar’. There we gave an events category the same name as we named before a post category. This confuses WordPress and the plugin (which works perfectly!) has no chance for the right output.

Solution: never use the same label within WordPress twice for categories (from various sources).

BTW, we try to debug this plugin in order to get it working for categories as sub menu items too.

I have the same problem. It’s perfect for almost all of the various submenu items, but it blows with the very first category.

I use the same settings as Grezvany13, as these setting provide what I need. Except for the first category ….
