Alas, I had already updated a ton of posts before I noticed it was doing this. Anyone know a strategy for bulk editing excerpts? I don’t want to get rid of them site wide, just delete or truncate the too long ones that imported.

I badly need this feature as well.

Updated Jetpack when the release came out with the hopes of getting this feature but now this widget is broken and giving me “We cannot load blog data at this time.” on all sites. Ideas?

I actually tried that myself a few weeks ago. Seems like a good idea, doesn’t it? Alas, it doesn’t work, captions remain in the RSS feed even with the word caption added and unchecked.

I hope we get a fix to this soon!

I’m having this same issue, Chris, with captions showing in excerpts. Any idea when this fix will go live?

Mine is working now but I don’t have a good answer for anyone still experiencing this problem. After emailing PetraP my API code, she activated something that made the sign-in link work correct finally… but that still didn’t allow me to use the gallery. I clicked the sign-in button, logged in and… nothing changed after save and refresh.

Long story short, after days of trying random things (logging in and out of Zemanta, clearing my cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, etc) I finally gave up on it. Hours after I’d last tried anything, the gallery was still grayed out with the error message as I was writing the post and then, suddenly, it wasn’t. It just started working again and I’ll be darned if I can tell you why.

I just wanted to update this for anyone who was still having this issue though I wish I could tell you how to fix it. Having someone from Zemanta activate it for you does seem to be part of the solution but I don’t know what of the billion things I tried after that actually made it work again.

I’ve been struggling with this same thing myself where I want the full sized image from the Facebook feed because I’m using FeedWordpress to post it to a blog. The problem is that the _s vs n thing doesn’t apply to every image.

That takes me to my Zemanta account where I have been logged in this whole time through all this testing. That’s why it works on my other accounts as I mentioned.

That’s the true problem here. I am actually already signed in so the button going to the wrong link is only a part of the problem… it’s not recognizing the cookies that show I’m already in my account either way.

I’m having this same issue. I tried disabling all other plugins, reinstalling the plugin and also copying and pasting from the console as directed above and didn’t have any success.

I also tried with the browser plugin and the WordPress plugin independently(uninstalling the one while I tried the other) as well as two different browsers and machines to try to troubleshoot.

One thing I did notice is that, on two other blogs of mine where the plugin is working, the “Sign In” button takes me to https://prefs.zemanta.com/UNIQUE CODE/?platform=wordpress39 while the same button on the site that isn’t working links to https://MY DOMAIN/wp-admin/post.php?platform=wordpress39

My plugin version is Version 1.2.5
My WP version is WordPress 3.9.1
Tried it in the most recent versions of Chrome and Firefox on two different machines.
Issues persists even with all other plugins disabled.

Sorry for not spelling this out better, Tim. That’s a big part of why I was posting, because I knew these were out of date and I was hoping to create a new sort of Frankenstein plugin out of the guts of these two with the new functionality mentioned above.

But, hey, if someone wants to chime in with an alternative that is both current and can do what I need, I’m all ears!
