Thank you for checking. I have the exported Smartcrawl settings in the json file here for you to check out:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/u42ib4b22jz277w/wds-settings-2019-05-14.18-01-17.json/fileI appreciate your assistance. Ideally the site would have a default card on Twitter for pages that do not have a “featured image” set, but whenever there is one set on the page or post the Twitter share would always show that featured image.
Hi Nastia @ Smartcrawl. I have permission to temporarily post the url to the site (and the problems I’m having) so that you can see an example. At least this way I can take the file down once the problem is solved. They just didn’t want their site permanently linked to a tech support issue:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/g3399l3v4slmy46/smartcrawl_info.txt/file
The link to the site is included in the downloadable text file, along with some of the code that SmartCrawl puts into the header. My goal is to have the newspaper image (which was the page’s default image) show and not a sitewide Twitter card. Thank you for your assistance!
Thank you for answering Nastia. The image is not showing and things were done to match your screenshot.
https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator
says “Unable to render Card preview” and has this in the log:
INFO: Page fetched successfully
INFO: 2 metatags were found
ERROR: No card found (Card error)The title metadata says %%title%% %%sep%% %%sitename%% in gray and the description says %%excerpt%% which is what I had wanted as well. I have a graphic set up as the card in case there is no featured image (I have posts with intended featured images that I would prefer to the static card though) but nothing seems to work.
Their twitter feed still does not show images when attempting to share. The owners would prefer that I not post actual links to their site in a public tech support forum. My theme is The7, if that helps. Is there a way to let you have more information without publicly posting the page?
Thank you for the info!

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] Links to YouTube videos: “403 Access Not Configured”I’m glad to hear this is a fix Saxman for BLC’s errors.
My biggest concern is that fixing something within Broken Link Checker won’t fix what Google would actually see. That might hurt our sites’ SEO because Google might punish the ranking of sites with 403 errors. Does anyone know of a way to check whether this is the case?
Thank you. I look forward to it!

In reply to: [Broken Link Checker] Links to YouTube videos: “403 Access Not Configured”I also want to report an interest in this, in case the developers are listening. Is it possible that Google would see this the same way Broken Link Checker does, and then punish our SEO for having what appear to be 403 links? All my videos work fine, it’s only that they show up with 403s in Broken Link Checker with the Youtube API check turned on.
Or would it make a difference to get a Youtube developer key and put it in broken-link-checker/modules/extras/youtube.php as suggested at
https://github.com/ManageWP/broken-link-checker/issues/56
https://github.com/ManageWP/broken-link-checker/blob/4e3d2c1c0780c2fb0afa04a7299160d8d6f7000f/modules/extras/youtube.phpThis is what Clearfy has on the import/export settings page:

[EDIT: As I read through this it says Yoast SEO there but that is no longer installed on my site, that was from the previous developer]- This reply was modified 5 years, 8 months ago by hdbrick.
I apologize for the delay. This is the result of my export of the Smartcrawl settings:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/7pcq8h91zu2h321/wds-settings-2019-03-12.22-17-46.json/file
Let me know if this helps. Thank youI did the checkup and found that Webcraftic Clearfy is definitely the conflicting plugin. I like Clearfy though. When Clearfy was inactive, everything with Smartcrawl automatically reverted to normal in my editing interface and it kept the editing changes.
However, turning Clearfy on and off only seems to affect the Smartcrawl editor. Will Smartcrawl work as hoped for the end user experience, even if I can’t make the changes as the site editor when Clearfy is active? If so, I could just deactivate Clearfy when I want those page-specifci Smartcrawl edits and I hope to be able run both plugins at the same time most of the time.
Thank you for your suggestions.
Great information and specifics on how to make those read-only. Thank you!
This is exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you Nintechnet!
