Have you tried clearing your cache?

James’ htaccess code definitely works. It works perfectly, in fact. Make sure you copied it correctly and try again. Be sure to undo any modifications you made to the plugin as well.

Hi James! Can you provide the exact code we should place in the htaccess to redirect /login to a 404?

@thehowarde – You are exactly right! This plugin is a big mess, and the revision was in bad form. But the plugin author will probably respond to you with: “May be there is problems with your skills?”, as he did me when I asked him why there were so many problems with this upgrade. smh

Anyway, thanks for sharing the code to disable the plugin notifications for those who are currently using an older version. I would recommend people steer clear of this plugin all together.

Obviously the problem is with your skills if you can’t update your plugin without causing all these issues for everyone…

I refreshed it and was able to gain access to the settings page now. I enabled compatibility mode, but now all of my formatting is messed up and all my buttons have changed shape, size, and color.

Please advise.

When I try to go to the settings page I get an error message that says: “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

Why are there so many problems with your upgrades?

Upgrading to 4.0.3 and and adding that code to the functions.php file did not work. None of the shortcodes are working. All the shortcodes (ex: [gn_column size=”1-3″ last=”0″ style=”0″]) are showing on the frontend of my site.

Please advise.

I’ve reverted to version 3.9.5. It works fine for me. Is upgrading to 4.0.1 really worth it? Do I need to go through and change all the gn_ to su_ in addition to adding the code you provided here for the functions.php file?

Yes, I agree this is incredibly problematic. And there was no notice of the is change or instructions on how to remedy it.

I went through and changed all “gn_” to “su_”, but the shortcodes are still not working. What needs to be done to get the shortcodes working again?

I have this same problem of not getting the emails with the code. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. What do you think the problem is and how can I fix it?

I don’t allow registrations, so blocking /wp-register and/or wp-signup is not a problem for me. But I agree it should be conditional as a plugin core.

To prevent /wp-admin/async-upload.php from revealing the custom login url you can password protect the wp-admin directory. That offers a suitable solution for me.
