Because events were pending, there were “none” in the missing categories. Works fine when the events are published.

The issue is that the button in the admin bar is linking to a url like this : ‘https://welovestalbans.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2&action=edit’ and it should say ‘https://welovestalbans.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2&action=edit’ (i.e. not convert the & to a character reference “&)

I have the same problem. Set to 24hr clock but there is no right hand side content on the schedule page allowing me to add a show

The problem I had turned out to be (thanks Tobias) that my web hoster had locked down security to such a degree that the plugin was unable to post updates! Once this was resolved with them, it worked fine.
