I have installed the Jetpack Plug-in and use the slideshow that comes with it. There are a lot of options in this plugin! You have to go into settings and change the options for it by activating the slideshow option.

I looked at the theme, and checked under support for it. Two others who had used this theme said they could not change the banner images. Have you tried looking at the code of the theme to change it? You could possible add it in the code rather than through the wordpress dashboard.
