You can customize your upload directory, if you like by adding the following to your wp-config.php file:
define('UPLOADS', 'files/blog');

It’s relative, so if you’re WordPress install is in https://yoursite.org/blogo, the files will be uploaded to https://yoursite.org/blogo/files/blog/(year)/(month).

Keep your eyes peeled for the next update for the next update of WP 2.0, the option is slated to return to its rightful place in the admin panel.

It’d be great to see something like this native in 1.6.

Basically the content from /gallery/2005/ and /reading/2005/ are being mushed together into one page.

I’m using a plugin to avoid the -1, -2, etc. On posts I don’t run into any problems: https://sdho.hayfordoleary.com/2005/06/29/hp/ and https://sdho.hayfordoleary.com/2005/06/10/hp/.

RobertMcClelland — I know I could make it unique, but it seems really messy to do so.

slambert — I don’t know how that could work. On my site it’s treating it as thought I’ve used multiple /2005(s). I realize that the addresses should be distinct, as they have different parent pages, but I’m assuming there’s a bug in the software for which I was hoping to find a hack or plugin.
Could you post a link of your blog to make sure I’m thinking of the same thing?
