In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Full of great features, but…Instead of calling the new option “disable all the mess”, he called it “disable all beautifications”.

In reply to: [AdRotate Banner Manager - The only ad manager you'll need] Custom post typesArnan, I think support for custom post types and custom taxonomies is needed.. at least I need it.
Here’s my case study: I run a user-generated classifieds website. Users submit their ads (which are actually custom post types), and I want to select an Ad Group to be inserted at the top/bottom of every single (custom) post OR custom taxonomy archive page. Currently this is not possible.
We could have an option like: Include this Group in all posts of type [select your custom post type], rather than selecting individual pages to insert into.
I hope I made myself clear.

In reply to: [Drag & Drop Featured Image] niceThe OP should’ve pumped their 2 stars review by now.
It’s amazing how ranting on the internetz is the easiest thing for some people. As per my previous post regarding the default initial date of any new ad being set to 1970, this bug seems to have been squashed now with the latest 3.8.2 update. Everything is working fine now.
Kudos, dev!
Anyone figured this out yet?
Mr. Dev?
Since this thread is about “After upgrading to 3.8.1” I thought I’d write this here rather than start a whole new thread.
So, not quite sure if this is a feature or a bug, but after 3.8.1 any new ad I create the schedule date is automatically set to the year 1970! In earlier versions the date was automatically set to the current day/month from the current year.
Would like some clarification from the dev if possible.
Thanks.Tarun, you’re the man!
I still can’t see what’s in the “AWM Group” page (it just comes up as a white/blank page but no errors are thrown).
The “Access Manager” page is working fine though, no complaints. I just want to know what am I missing in the “AWM Group” page; I was never able (and still unable) to view that page.
Okay, apologies.
I add the property target=”_blank” in the anchor tag for the ads which i want to open in a new tab, it works just as expected.
Is this what you do and get an additional new empty tab opened as well?
Maybe try some of the database-related buttons from the maintenance section in the settings page? ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DB FIRST!
Never mind the above; it was, ahem, my fault.
I didn’t look at this knowledge base article first. It just turned out that I need to make the Link URL = File URL from the media manager dialog.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Full of great features, but…Josh, I appreciate you replying to my review.
If you could do an option to take away all the “jazz” as you’ve described, then that should be good.. but I think it’s better to keep the UI aligned with the WordPress standards by default anyway, not with an option.
I still think some stuff are unnecessary (e.g. the settings page font, the big green scroll to top arrow because it appears on top of my long admin menu, the image banners in some insert dialogs) and the options layout in the settings page could do with more organizing.
I also suggest to make the editor icons gray-scale by default (just like the default editor) and then they become colored upon hovering with the mouse pointer, because now if you have many icons they can be a bit distracting while you’re editing.
Finally, I’m totally in love with some features (like the QR Code one) that I’ve decided to pump my review to 4 stars ??

In reply to: WordPress Suddenly Deleted ALL my posts/pages?This also happened to me a couple of times while I was developing a WordPress site on my local computer. Pages, posts, and also media files (!) disappeared. Just like that.
I found a handful of threads on the forums of people having this same issue. Some suggested it could be a misconfiguration of the server, while others fingered the plugins.
I couldn’t yet find the exact reason as to why this does happen. My posts table does not have the data anymore. I’ve tried the check/repair database tables via phpMyAdmin but to no avail.
Pulling my hair trying to figure out what the heck!
wrylilt, seeing as your original post is 10 months old (and other threads on the matter are all closed), have you ever found a satisfying answer?
