Isn’t the normal procedure in plug-ins to use po/mo files for translation?

I might add that I just tested using special characters in a gallery that is not manipulated by my script.
The special characters show up correctly in the Fancybox pop-up. So I guess this has to happen when I read the DOM, manipulate it and write it back………..

I will investigate and report back!

This site uses Envira Gallery Lite. I have written my own script to pick up the DOM and manipulate it to display in one line and only the first so many images. I do no updates to the title or alt.

If I look at the HTML I also see:

When I mouse hover over the image I see the correct title with normal special characters.

So what can I do?

I had to manipulate an older existing site to show this as the site that I am experiencing it on is not live yet.
If you look at https://www.rianne-lampers.nl/vakantiemijmeringen-1/ you will see a gallery below the text. The first image has hover text “??Op weg naar de Giant’s Causeway – 1”. The caption reads “?¤??Op weg naar de Giant’s Causeway – 1”.

Please reply when you did the analysis so I can remove the two extra added characters at the start of the title. I will also remove the url above to avoid spammers of getting hold of it.

I can understand that you want to limit the number of pop-ups/opt-ins in the free version….. but I think it would be fair that you can create at least 2 of both.
Now if you want to experiment with different lay-outs you have to delete the only one you can create. Comparing them has become impossible.
Raising the number to 3 of each is perhaps asking too much?

Another idea: give the admin more to create and test and limit the number the site (so visitors) can use.

Yes both are the same and specify the https://

Typical is that some of the other images from review builder do specify the https.

I just installed version 2.0.11 and the problem is gone!
Was this intentionally fixed? Or just pure luck…….. ??

I can understand your reasoning. But the open site now has version 2.0.4 installed as this version still displays the review correctly.
I have an offline version of this site with a higher version.
I used theme Magcast but the display is always weird (I tried other themes) whenever the sidebar is on the right. When it is on the left all is well.
Below the links to 2 screen shots of the live and the offline site. No other changes besides the review builder version.
If necessary I can specify part of the html?

I have installed the new version and most problems are gone! So thanks for that.

Just one tiny see over in line 47 of sgCommentHelper.js there is still the fixed text of ‘no more comments’. I think this part of the code is used for an empty review?

That sounds like a good offer! Maybe I can offer my services in return by creating a translation into Dutch?

edit: Stupid me! I already submitted a translation. Maybe I can do something else? Like testing?

It was me that gave you this idea…… and now I can only use it by getting the pro version? ??

I just installed version 2.0.8
Saving the new fields now works OK.

But I now get a script error avatarHTML is not defined! So the reviews are no longer working!

BTW sgCommentHelper.js still contains untranslated strings:
‘no more comments’
‘show all’ 3 times
Could these please be updated?
