Here are provide some step to regular static page.
Step 1.
Firstly create own home page template followup template creating guide line and click here guide line .

Step 2.
After that assign your created page using admin page menu and select template.

Step 3.
Go to admin menu settings->reading and set your front page.

It will resolved your issue.
