Apologizing. To be accurate, your theme framework “theme hybrid” or “hybrid” was mentioned also among top 3-4 but the conversation was truncated moving on to another topic unfortunately. Isn’t WordPress Weekly late for a program about you? I just listened to podcast mentioning you from 12 months ago. Are you part of any discussions online that compare theme frameworks?
Your project M theme club was mentioned and sounds like it might address the community issues I am concerned about. And where for art Sandbox community support and development?
Can you compare Hybrid to Sandbox in relation to my primary concerns explained above under the headings FUNCTIONALITY… and LAYOUT… We all want to learn more about your framework – and wordpress through understanding and the well formed web standards html and typography of Sandbox.

In reply to: need something like a widget to place text within an html elementYup. You are describing generally what I am looking for. Thanks for looking at this with me.
To be specific, what I understand you to be describing is:
1. I create a “page” with my text (which will be edited by a nube from time to time).2. I insert [the code I am looking for] inside the HTML element where I want it to appear with the page ID
<p>the code I am looking for + page ID</p>
I guess at this point, I need someone who knows the WordPress PHP to lend a hand (if this is possible).
Thanks

In reply to: need something like a widget to place text within an html elementYeah that is all I can come up with. I am trying to keep the website content-author within the administration panel.
Do you see any way that text file could be edited from within the admin panel?
Wouldnt that be a great CMS plugin to create an admin panel page to handle these includes that could be short-handed with some kind of code snippet(to call the include)? Then you just style whatever element you have pasted the snippet into.
The alternative I am probably going to have to take is sending the content author to the template (in the admin panel).

In reply to: a 1 category post appear on category archive but not on home pageSimplifying my goal to eliminate all the posts of one category from appearing on the homepage.
I am using the very well made ‘Events Calendar’ plugin. I have chosen for it to create a post every time I create an event. I am placing each of those posts in a category named “Schedule“.
I don’t want the posts within the “schedule” category to appear on the homepage. But I do want them to appear in a “schedule” category archive page.
I would prefer if the “Schedule” category appeared in the list of categories but if not, it’s not a deal-breakerForum: Plugins
In reply to: a 1 category post appear on category archive but not on home pagehere is the link you asked for
Away With All Gods TourUnderstood can exclude a category.
But cannot exclude a single post from a category? (The post can only have one category.)
I should be able to solve this by being more creative with the organization of my content.
Thanks for the second time this morning MichaelH.

You are clear have helped immensely.
Boards and email are hard for me to be perfectly clear on.I understand I am beyond the scope here. I am just trying to get from A to B. I will email this discussion and my question to the author now.
If anyone else has something on this today, that would be helpful.

In reply to: move post footer from bottom to below titleThanks MichaelH
If I make the modification in the index.php that is within theme’s folder, it correctly effects the home page but not the post’s page. I also want to cover any and all archiving variations the are generated automatically by wordpress. Do I need to repeat this mod in several places or is the Template Hierarchy such that there is one parent location to make the mod?I am a n00b and trying to learn WordPress. Your resources recommendation are on the top of my study pile.

In reply to: password protect blog for private viewingThanks Paul. Blog has been re-animated. All better now.
Currently, the plugin is redirecting me to my WordPress folder which is a problem. You can see a screenshot of my “members only” settings screen here
I have my blog homepage at modernia.net/homepage
and wordpress in modernia.net/homepage/wp.
The “Redirection Page” section of the “members only” settings displays
modernia.net/homepage/ followed by a blank text box.
I am not sure what the explanation below that meansIf the field is left blank, users will be redirected to the login page instead. (Only applies if your redirecting to the specific page)
and when I go to modernia.net/homepage and login, I am re-directed to
modernia.net/homepage/wpAlso, did you update the plugin’s page for members only? Where you originally sent me was let you download Version: 0.6.6. I think the sections of this plugin’s page let you download Version: 0.6.7
